  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention What are you having for dinner?

Toasted quinoa with a center cut pork chop I had cooked sous vide, and then finished in a skillet.

Had an ice cream cone of coconut cream pie ice cream from a quart I bought at the local Handel's two weeks ago.

Very exciting.

Pan fried sole with baby potatoes and peas.

Cooked on our newly installed range....first meal.

1:36pm and so far I have a whole chicken out defrosting. Not going to be ready in time so no clue.

A can of soup and bread with almond butter.

You'd think if I stooped to convenience products like canned soup I'd at least choose something other than soup, given that I cook soup all time.

And buying that soup somehow made me realize how bad inflation has gotten...

My brother and his wife are in town and headed back tomorrow, so tonight, I'm grilling a very nice tomahawk ribeye, steamed broccoli florets, whipped sweet potato fluff, and garlic toasted baguettes. A very simple berry crumble with vanilla ice cream finishes off the feed.

I think I'm going to grill a bunch of chicken thighs after the steaks come off to not waste the bed of coals. Will make great lunches at work and barbeque.

lasagna redux.

The last portions of the lasagna from a month ago that we froze.

We ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers deluxe and 2 cokes from a local place. They had the bacon mixed into the beef and double cheese lettuce and tomato already on the sandwich. Was big juicy and delicious. Fries were crisp and seasoned well.

Almost 50 bucks.....

Those thighs. The steaks were a treat, but I enjoyed the broccoli the most.

I went out this morning to McD's and got a Bacon, Egg, & Cheese McGriddle and a B.E.&C. Biscuit along with 2 or 3 refills of Diet Dr. Pepper. I went late as I could before the breakfast cuf-off time so that I would not be tempted to eat lunch later.

For dinner I had an apple and 3 saltine crackers with peanut butter. I've hidden the Oreo Golden Double Stuff cookies in the microwave so that they are not staring at me everytime I walk into the kitchen. It is only 7:35pm so the evening is early to avoid the Oreo's.

I saw a video on Pasta and Peas a week or so back. First try didn't work well--too much liquid.. Tried again today, but with a simplified approach because I'm feeling lazy. It wasn't great, but at least this time, I got the liquid level about right.

As I dished my slop dinner up, I idly wondered what the Le Creuset people would say about me using their pot to cook my slop dinners.

Turkey burger on a salad.

A slice of pizza, applesauce and some Macaroni salad
