  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention What are you having for dinner?

Shrimp cocktail, roasted rack of pork with a mustard/garlic/herb crust, whipped sweet potato fluff with a hint of cinnamon and fresh nutmeg, steamed green beans marinated in Italian dressing and chilled, cafeteria rolls, and a piece of pecan pie with a pumpkin spice whipped cream.

I am thankful I didn't have to attend a dinner out, and declined a neighbor's invitation to be a fifth wheel. Enjoying a slow, peaceful day inside punctuated by a few phone calls from family.

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy - the classic traditional Thanksgiving meal.

And tomorrow it will even taste better as leftovers because we don't have to cook it!
That is the BEST part! I feel that way any time I cook on a Saturday or Sunday and have multiple leftovers to take to work that week for lunch.

I plan to put my vacuum sealer to work today and put back goodies in the freezer, particularly the roast in sliced chops.

We are having coddled eggs with sausages and brioche toast.

Total comfort nursery food.

Last night home made calzones. One with pepperoni and black olives another one with taco flavored shredded chicken. Filled with mozzarella and burrata cheese. They were amazing, yum, yum.

Tonight is a couple of "hamburger steaks". If I'm out of brown gravy mix, I'll just have to make some from scratch. If I get to feeling fancy I might toss in a small can of sliced mushrooms. Served with rice.

The "hamburger steaks" are from a 5# chub. Sliced up a hair over 1/2 inch thick and vac sealed two to a package.
