  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What did you have for dinner?

Salmon and boiled potatoes was cheaper than Pizza?!

I had a BIG salad w/ grilled, marinated chicken breast.
Was tasty - so what if it's still leftovers, lol.
It's a new way of eating them.

Lunch is Beef Tips and Noodles.

Dinner will be? Probably leftovers still.

Soup beans (a mixture of navy and pinto beans) that has slowly cooked in a crock pot most of the day, cornbread, and sweet ice tea.

Can you tell I live in the SE USA?

Did it have the requisite HAM bone or salt pork in it?
Any sides of Okra, or Greens?

I'm having, as previously suggested, leftovers - grilled chicken drumsticks, oven roasted potatoes, baked beans (Doctored up Bush's - add ketchup, mustard, Maple Syrup, bacon and simmered overnight and then some in crock pot and 12qt stock pot - I made 3 #10 Cans worth for the party.

lousy grilled chicken, rice pilaf and fresh picked green beans.
then again all chicken is lousy

Sorry you don't enjoy chicken.
My grilled was fairly tasty.
We eat a lot of the bird, anymore.
I likes me beef, but it's gotten pricey, and the cholesterol isn't always our friend.

I have not liked chicken since Perdue came around and they grew chickens too fast and fat.

Ah.

These are actually not Perdue, although that is the brand of choice in many stores around here.

Wegman's had 10# bags of leg/thigh quarters for $4.90 - weren't the best butchered birds, ass't sizes, some bones broken, included some backs, but was way less than 50% waste, so my net price was still a lot less then the $0.99/# going rate for Frank's Marigold fed birds.

Wegman's has their own brand, too - I don't know if Perdue repackages for them or not - they have their own huge egg farm near us. I know they sell their layers to Campbell's for Chicken (insert starch here) soups.

We also tend to buy whole port loins from BJ's and have cut into boneless chops, plus 90 or 93% lean ground beef - unless I buy top/bottom rounds and grind my own.

A guy who doesn't like CHicken and CHocolate? Mext thing he's gonna be even MORE wrong and say he doesn't like CHicago...both the city and the rock band.

What about going to church? lol

Vegan dinner: package of diced portobello mushrooms and added sesame seeds, garlic power, pepper...stir fried in olive oil.

About 4 ounces of spring mix with honey mustard yogurt dressing, and some milled flaxseed and cinnamon mixed in.

That sounds disgustingly healthy, lol.
I'd make a lousy vegetarian, let alone vegan.

I'm a true omnivore. I eat almost anything in the edible realm that doesn't eat me, first.

Flaxseed and Cinnamon - going for heart healthy, too.

I do like Chicago the group, but not the city. I do not go to Church

I had fleeting thoughts of that, myself, having had a Philly Cheesesteak Pizza before.
