What if JUB is just a secret government experiment, one that is designed to test out complex computer programs that mimic human beings?

Well??? Might that not explain a few thing? Like, maybe Belamy is missing because he was malfunctioning and he had to be taken offline to get some extra work done. It could be!

That would explain "points" too. They are just a way of designating which Bots are a little buggy.

Although the way your'e suggesting with the gov't experiment angle would make a great subject for a science fiction story. Plus the bots in the article are like 1-on-1 chat, instead of being able to post [semi]-intelligently on a message board. It's a logical progression though, so you can just imagine someday that spammers will have bots to impersonate real people that will suggest you by their products. Maybe even that hot guy you think you're PMing...

Hey, that's what keeps me healthy and trim!

Knowledge is power.

And besides, I'm not totally healthy, anyway. I'm hypoglycemic and have to keep a close eye on my blood sugar. Knowing so much about food is part of that because diabetes runs in my family. I may have low blood sugar now, but that could all change as I get older.

Okay, so with that explanation, do I pass the bot test?

Yeah, just think. If the Bots work well then the government can flood the internet with them and try to sway public opinion and votes.
