  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

what is the point of wheelchairs?

...so you can play wheelchair basketball?

But seriously, FDR did not have the use of his legs. When not in his wheelchair, he often used crutches. When speaking at a podium, everyone thought he was actually standing. If he had his legs amputated, he wouldn't have been able to do that. Made a big difference in public perception. (strength v. weakness) :D

Legs always have one very important use, which is sufficient to close the case:

without them, there's no lap for kittens, small dogs, and little children, or to have gifts dropped in to be opened.*

The wheelchair is a priceless treasure because it preserves the wonder of a lap.

*or have cute young guys sit on during Mardi Gras.

I'm an amputee missing my left leg below the knee. I have a prosthetic but because it's painful to use I do use a wheelchair if I have to be out for a long while. having a limb amputated is incredibly traumatic. even if it is damaged and useless like mine was. there's also the fact that I still have 1 perfectly good leg but I'm not ready to give up. people use wheel chairs for great many reasons not simply because their legs are paralyzed. and even if they are paralyzed that doesn't mean they want to go to the incredible trauma of having a part of your body cut off

So what ever happened to Lukee anyway?

He hasn't posted a similarly moronic thread like this in a long time?

I wonder how FDR would fare in politics today with our constant television scrutiny?

This thread has a Planet of the Apes quality to it.

Kiss my monkey. ;)

What the OP needs to do is sit in a wheelchair and stay there.
