What was the last play that you watched?

Tonight I saw "The Fantasticks." The longest running production of any kind in the history of American theatre. Very funny moments at times. I enjoyed it very much.

I don’t know if I should include the following, but while in Vegas I saw:

Absinth – An okay show, but not my thing.

Menopause: The Musical – One of the best shows I have seen. Great for men and women.

Jubilee – Strange show, but beautiful performers and costumes.

50 Shades! The Parody – It was okay, but they only went for the cheap laughs.

Frank Marino’s Divas – A great show with some of the hottest dancers.

Mac King – A great family show, but it is the same as 10 years ago.

Carrot Top – Funny, but no belly laughs.

Aussie Hunks – Some very hot guys.

Le Rêve – My favorite show in Vegas. It is simply beautiful.

Jersey Boys – The show was miscast. The actor’s voices were tired and could not reach all of the notes.

Just got home from 42nd Street. I liked it. The dancing was great.

Saw Disney's Beauty and The Beast tonight. It was good as always and a beautiful production. I do wish they would have been more serious and romantic though. The new productions all seem to think it is a comedy.

just came back from the Steve Martin / Edie Brickell musical 'Bright Star' (at the Kennedy Center) - love the songs!

I went to the Mac King show last Saturday from the suggestion of a fellow magician friend (The Great Zucchini) and loved it - the bear/tent trick sent this 10 year old kid nearly flying off the stage --- too funny.

saw Cirque Du Soleil's - Beatles: Love show - fantastic!

Criss Angel's Believe show - too much humor not enough magic. okay, not great, so glad I didn't pay top dollar to see this.

The great thing about Vegas is almost all of their shows have big discounts if you know where to look.

Last night I saw "50 Shades of Hillary." It's a musical about Hillary Clinton. It's by Gabriel Hammad. It was funny and entertaining and also thought provoking! I enjoyed it! Though it was a bit short, only 70 minutes long with no intermission.

saw 'Constellations' over at the Studio Theater (DC) - the play that Jake Gyllenhaal starred in on Broadway.

Cost to much to go see.

Yeah they can be spendy.

I am lucky. A friend and I have had season handicap box tickets for over a decade. With all discounts we each pay around $175 a year for 6 to 8 touring Broadway shows. Normal price is about $125 for one show.

Didn't have to pay for that one. A friend was the property manager and gave us free tickets. I have no idea what going to a play would cost today.

well it depends what you like - musicals, plays, touring productions, local theater productions - the pricing runs the gambit ... here in DC where I live, you can see plays done by college groups (AU, Georgetown, and Catholic have excellent theater departments) for under twenty. Higher priced tix are generally theater/musicals done at the Kennedy Center and Arena Stage ($100) I recently dropped over $800 for the four opera parter: 'Wagner's The Ring Cycle' for next month ... cannot wait to see this! Goldstar also helps tremendously which is reduced ticket pricing.

saw The Nether at Woolly Mammoth theater last night - the stage design/video projection was vivid and wild... and it helped that I was sitting two rows from the stage to watch my favorite Washington DC area actor Edward Gero (oh and I paid $36 for what was normally a $78 dollar ticket - thank you Goldstar).

All the Way (at Arena Stage) - it might not have been Bryan Cranston in the lead role of LBJ, but Jack Willis (who starred in the original Oregon Shakespeare Festival premier engagement) was top notch
