What was the last play that you watched?

I saw "Beauty and the Beast" and I did not like it. I also saw "The Lion King" and thought it was wonderful!

When did you see BATB? The first version was by far the best.

Beauty and The Beast is one of my favorites. I have seen 4 big productions and many little independent.

The Little Mermaid I loved. I really want to see a big production some day.

Lion King I have seen 4 times

Newsies

Marry Poppins

Lucky bastard!

Have you seen other Disney Broadway shows? If so how would you rate them?

'Mary Poppins' I saw a touring production of it, I really enjoyed.

I've only seen 'Beauty and the Beast' in shortened 'Junior' fom - did not impress me.

'Freaky Friday' - I absolutely LOVED!

'Newsies' - great dancing but too long, felt like it could have been shortened.

'Lion King' - great sets, costumes, songs, but the story veered to close to pandering to the kids more than the adults at times. I personally think ti's a tad overrated.

~

really really want to see 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' - love the recording, but it's in the hands of what regional theater in the Washington DC area will book the rights, I'm thinking and hoping the Olney will do it.

Last night I saw the play "The Sunshine Boys." It was very funny but also at times some of the humor was corny and dated.

I remember seeing the movie years ago with Walter Mathau and George Burns. Great movie!

TicktockMan, I do not remember exactly when I saw "Beauty and the Beast" but it was several years ago. I was not impressed.

I saw the Rocky Horror Show last Saturday night at a community theater. It was great and there were a few good liking guys in it. Also there were some pretty good singers in it.

saw two recent productions at Arlington's Signature Theatre: 'Sondheim's 'A Little Night Music' and 'An Act of God' - 'Night Music' is now my second favourite Sondheim musical. 'An Act of God' was funny, but unfortunately DC doesn't really have an all out 'gay' actor like Sean Hayes or Jim Parsons, don't get me wrong, lead actor Tom Story is great in the role, I just wished he gayed it/camped it up even more.

Last night I saw the musical "The Sound of Music." What a great show!

The musical is similar to the Julie Andrews original movie. Some scenes in the Musical were different than the movie. But great music and songs.

This show is truly a classic!

Just saw earlier this afternoon - 'Mean Girls' (the musical - pre-Broadway engagement in Washington DC at the National Theater), act 1 could be tightened up a bit at an hour and twenty minutes, it feels long. All in all though, it's vastly entertaining and the choreography is a blast.

A week ago from last Monday, saw 'The Wild Party' (Constellation Theatre Co.) and wow! A waifer thin plot, which is not a negative comment in any way gives way to nearly non-stop singing and dancing, threw me for a loop, what a production!

Last night I saw "The Drowsy Chaperone" for the second time. I saw it several years ago in a National Touring Company show and last night at a local theatre.

I enjoyed the show again just as much as the first time I saw it. The comedy is funny and the music and dancing were great. All the actors and actresses were really good.

I just saw "Anything Goes" at Baldwin Wallace College's theater in Berea , Ohio. Although the story isn't anything special, it is a musical with singing and dancing. The quality of the singing and dancing by college students blew me away. I greatly enjoyed the performance.

Last night I saw "Dreamgirls" at a local theater. The show was good. The singing and dancing were both great. The singer who played Effie White had a very powerful voice.

The Bodyguard.

Does not work as a play at all in my opinion.

I just saw "Nuncrackers" at a community theater. It was fun and enjoyable but nothing to rave about.

Last night I saw a National Touring Production of "School of Rock." The musical is based on the movie. It is from Andrew Lloyd Webber.

It was very good and the kids were phenomenal. They all played their own musical instruments.

Went to see Kinderen van Judas, a Dutch play about vampires, which is largely based on the actors improvising on the subject. The result was a very uneven production that was sometimes hard to watch, but certainly had it's moments.

Saw another independent production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast".

It hit 3 out of the 4 things I want from that certain play. Still a bit miffed about the fourth.

Last night I saw a local production of Flashdance: The Musical. I loved the show. It reminded me of the movie, which I saw a long time ago.

The main characters sang very well but some of the supporting cast members were not so good. Their voices were a bit flat.
But overall, I thought the show was very good.

Unnecessary Farce (Keegan Theater - Washington DC) very very funny and a lot of slamming doors, hilarity ensues

Disenchanted

I loved it. I highly recommend it to anyone. It is about how fairy tale princess don't like how Disney and others showed them.
