What's happening in England

I realise that Ireland is populated by Irishmen who revel in boorishness, passivity and suffering.

But this Leo seems very badly brought up. Picking his nose and then shaking hands. And his boyfriend's making jokes about kiddies' books.

I'd wondered when you'd start pissing on the Irish in HT again.

Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. Isaiah 60:5

The sea has been giving up its riches on the east coast.

Norfolk beach walker finds crisp packet from 1960s

Crisp packets and sweet wrappers dating back as far as the 1960s have been found on a Norfolk beach. Chris Turner, from Clifton, Bedfordshire, came across the decades-old litter while staying at his holiday home at Scratby, near Great Yarmouth.

"The last one I found - Horror Bags - I contacted a group online and was told 'actually, it's really valuable'," he said. "I've had a look and some have gone for over £100 on eBay because they're collectable. "So I know what I'll be doing with that very soon."

Speaking of horror bags, I wonder what became of that Canadian woodwork teacher who was in the papers a few months ago for expressing her gender while operating a circular saw.

I don't know if you ever read the backstory about this person? That he was a far right wing-nut who was performing this stunt to protest against the school board and the provincial legislation protecting trans people?

But seems like 'Kayla' was her own worst enemy. His lies finally caught up with him.

The teacher was finally put on leave in March of this year after being caught out by a reporter.

Lemieux, a shop teacher at Oakville Trafalgar High School, was put on leave last month after The Post revealed she often goes without her prosthetics outside the classroom. Post photos showed a dressed-down Lemieux wearing men's clothing — with no sign of her wig or makeup.

Fortunately this poseur is now no longer able to influence students or to try to hold up all trans people to ridicule and abuse.

This school teacher is determined to teach students.

I had at first assumed they were emulating a character from one of George Bernard Shaw's didactic plays but they are indeed a head teacher at a school in Wembley.

First Queen Charlotte, now Cleopatra. Why not Toussaint Louverture? Here's a heroic historic figure whose ancestors really did come from sub-Saharan Africa, and whose life could--and should--be the basis for a compelling multi-part television drama. Why make people into something they are not? I, for one, would much rather see a biopic about Josephine Baker than another Cleopatra picture, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Ah yes...remember the good ole days?

I completely agree that Christian students, even in a public school, would likely make the same protests, pushing back and defending their religious views.

But I don't agree that it is a problem, nor that it is a problem that is unsolvable.

There is a culture war. There will be conflicting cultural values, including taboos, including views that infringe on civil rights. The mistake would be not to have the speaker, to not have the discussion. By having the discussion, the conflicting values are given a public forum in which all sides are allowed a pulpit, not just the one in the church, mosque, temple, or synagogue.

The secular setting becomes a place of discussion of the wider culture, and not the student's personal microcosm.

I'm not suggesting the group then walks away in perfect harmony, but I am saying more students see and hear a gay person on his own terms, not through the impersonal propaganda of a religious teaching setting. If anything, I think schools should be compelled to offer a seminar on comparative religions, including atheism, for an elective, to formalize the exposure to major divisions of thought. It needs to be formal and structured, else it just become a springboard for every local congregation to proselytize on school property.

Bacari Ogarro AKA ‘Secret Mizzy’ of Dalston was a media star on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, where he has 79,000 followers.

How unusual. An edgy teenager promoting himself by being threatening and confrontational on the streets, like that's not been done to death, pardon the pun.

He's pushing the limits, and he'll find them when he threatens the wrong person and gets the holy shit beat out of him. The beater will go to jail for assault, but the whole bad boy prank edge will be instantly taken off, as he won't be so brave any more.

Don't threaten people. They may believe you.

But I don't agree that it is a problem, nor that it is a problem that is unsolvable.

Who should take responsibility for resolving this 'solvable problem'? The parents, the school?

Who has the motivation to erase this 'solvable problem'?
