What's happening in England

Everyone here has missed what this story is really about. Who did what?, who paid what? what is true? what is false? None of that matters. In the world of The Sun there is nothing that they will not print, as long as it sells papers. This the rag that makes National Enquirer look like The Wall St Journal. But it not just about selling papers, if only it was.
Rupert Murdoch regards the BBC as his enemy which is true in the sense that the truth is the enemy to the liar. A billionaire whose has made his fortune through newspapers and TV shows that use the consumers own racism, sexism and homophobia against them. The BBC tries to avoid such bigotry, it may not always succeed but it does try. Rupert's media never even try.
The nasty old man has won this round of the game, he's got what he wanted, further damage to his rival.
Why would he care if someone's life is ruined on the way. He never cared before.
 
Hold yer horses everyone, the BBC is still referring to a "person". It could well turn out to be a person with a vagina.

It also says that the police determined that no laws have been broken.

This is pretty much the case I suspect.

There doesn't have to be a scandal for there to be a 'scandal'.

At any rate, Huw's presenter career is likely finished.
 
The scandal, for there is a scandal, is that one media mogul can have so much clout that politicians of every colour queue up to lick his poisionous backside even while they know that the empire he founded has done nothing but harm in all the markets in which it operates.
 
The real scandal is that he is so evil even Hell won't take him, so he lives on.
 
Back to the question though. If 16 and up can have sex without permission of parents, is there an actual prohibition about them selling their pics to old queens in the closet?
 
And I'd like to know why is it a person's employer who is required to police them and investigate their possible crimes?

It's not. The police have concluded that there was no criminal act. It's still open to the employer to conclude that the non-criminal conduct of its employee was in some way inappropriate or inconsistent with the employer's values.
 
The mother and stepfather have been offered a large sum of money to apppear on one of Rupert's TV channels.
Purely in the public interest of course.
But will they be capable of reading their script from the autocue? or will they have to rely on an earpiece so that they know what it is that they are being paid so much to say.

As I noted earlier...in the background it seemed like someone was interested in a payday.

Despite the mother saying she wasn't interested in the money.

Yep. It is illegal to procure etc pictures from an under 18 even if both parties are compliant. This is in the UK of course

I really don't like that 'complainants are entitled to life-long anonymity under the law' bit. Not for adults. In this case, it appears, these are harmful/dangerous people. Perhaps more dangerous than a lot of people who end up on a registered sex offenders list.
