I got the second Moderna shot on March 30. I assume, but am not sure, that Moderna is similarly effective as Pfizer in preventing disease as well as preventing spread. I will still of course, be following the masking and distancing rules until we are told by reliable science that it is safe to stop.

Happy Vaccination day for me. 2nd Pfizer shot done, and know there might be some side effects and couldn't care less. The dead side effect for me or those I love around me would be much worse that comes from not getting a vaccine.

In the summer, they say.

I'm too old to be young, too young to be old, and too [STRIKE]useless[/STRIKE] disposable to be indispensable

This did make me chuckle:

Just got my first shot today. I am now 50% invincible.

I got my vaccine today (AstraZeneca) because Im on disability. My second dose is in 4 months.
Four months??? Is that a normal waiting period for AstraZeneca? I also didn't know they had that in Canada. I got mine on the 10th of February and March (Moderna).

Agreed 100%!! Though things like colds NEVER "flatten" me, there is certainly some value in not getting those, and other possible things as well.

It's a new recommendation. Oxford/AstraZeneca gets a booster dose after 12 weeks. This vaccine isn't approved yet in the US.

Moderna is 28 days. Pfizer is 21 days.

I got the J&J shot yesterday...opted for the one and done approach rather than the 2x vaccine I'd originally scheduled, which would've been at the end of May.

It was just a little sting, hardly worth mentioning. I got it in the morning and then wasted my entire afternoon...just got so tired and a bit dizzy. Today I'm fine.

^ Good for the babes

My partner and I ended getting our asses handed to us by side effects. Both ending up getting fevers and massive chills, I ended up having to throw up and now I can't sleep. Sucks but obviously much better than COVID and why I was afraid of COVID in the first place, haven't been this in years.

^ Hope you feel better soon. It's crazy how people react differently to the same thing.

Cold damp chilly rainy day.

Hey old man, did you forget what thread you were posting in? :p

I’m still on the wait list for an appointment. It’s been 6 weeks now.

Not sure what's available in your area, but I went to vaccinefinder.org just over a week ago and could get my choice of appointments within a few days. Pharmacies in my area had just gotten the J&J vaccine and I lucked in on being one of the first to schedule. The appointments filled up quickly because Friday I checked with a friend for one, and I just checked again now, and there was/are no appointments available within 25 miles of my place. Findyourvaccine.org may also an option to try.

Your State opened the vaccines to everyone on 29-Mar, so there should not be a wait. Most of the major retail pharmacies - RiteAid, CVS, Walgreens, etc are administering vaccines.

What I've been recommending to people is that if they can't get an appointment within a week, look in "red" areas in the suburbs and outside cities. There's a lot more available appointments in areas where vaccine skeptics live. :)
