Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Forget the top. Look at the bottom.:D It's far more exciting.....|

Watford are relegated. And WHam need a miracle if they are not to join them.

But which team is going to occupy that 3rd relegation place?

The games tomorrow 07/04/07, and on Monday 09/04/07, are crucial for so many teams.

I think Charlton will be relegated, making it 3 London teams dropping out of the Premiership...

But it still could be SheffUtd, Wigan, Villa, Fulham, 'Boro...

It'd better not be Boro.

Keep in mind, about three weeks ago, we'd only lost one game in 2007 - and that was away to chelsea. Admittedly, we've lost two more league games since then, but one as a weakened side, and... well, we should never have lost to WHU. Then again, we shouldn't have lost to Man City, but then again, WHU beat Man Utd a while back. We're allowed the occasional slip.

Couple more wins, Boro are safe. We should hopefully start with a win against watford. It should be straightforward, but I expect our best squad out there. We've got no reason to rest anyone anymore, and we need to make the win emphatic to jump start the outstanding form we had before the Man City/Man Utd situation.
That really tripped us up... if it wasn't for that, I think we'd really be safe by now - I think if it wasn't for us resting players, we'd have beaten Man City, and with the confidence, we'd have gone on to give a kicking to WHU too.

Problem is, at Man City, because of Pogatetz getting an injury, we ended up with four full backs in defence, and not one single typical centre back. Xavier and Davies in the centre - both right-backs - Parnaby on the right, and Taylor on the left.

And we played Euell. We need to be rid of him. He's just not achieving anything. I mean, if he goes and scores against Watford, I'll eat my words, but I honestly think he'll be playing in the same division as them next year. He's just not good enough for the premiership anymore.

Anyways, I'd like to see Charlton or Fulham go down... there are far too many London teams in the premiership, I want it to be better spread across the country. This would go a fine way towards evening it out.

Good look against Sevilla, Greaves! When we took them to the final, they thrashed us. Then they thrashed Barce in the Super Cup.

A force to be reckoned with.

4-1; Good old fashioned kicking dealt to Watford. Good good, normal service is resumed.

Two amazing results today. Portsmouth 2-1 winners v ManU. WHam win 0-1 at Arsenal.:D

Spurs played well at Chelsea:=D: but lost 1-0.:( so the Premiership is still up for grabs.

And who gets relegated along with Watford still remains in the balance. The Riverside should still be attracting the big fish next season after 'Boro swept aside the minnows of Watford.;)

 ](*,) ](*,) :grrr:

ofcourse i am not happy, i cnt believe it. Chelsea had to bloody win, and then we just didnt play at all, we just werent like the same team we have been all season. There were too many changes made, and Van Dar Sar ffs should have learnt his lesson from midweek, and yet he does it again, i mean "HELLO!!! were u not there on weds nite"

but have to giv it to Pompey, they did play well, defense was really good and Primus deserved man of the match, he and James totally saved Pompey. we just didnt create enough chances, and didnt capitalise on the ones we did, jus lacked that spark.

we always seem to have a little blip after we come back from the Champions League in the midweek, dno what it is.

Well atleast we delayed James from beating Seamans clean sheet record lol (that last part of the sentence just sounds naughty hehe, Seaman, Clean sheets :p)

So another twist in the tail for the premiership title, Chelsea close the gap to 3pts now, with 6 games to go and Man Utd still have to go the Stamford Bridge in the penultimate match of the season, and Chelsea still hav to play Arsenal a few days before, so its all very interesting and tense right now.

If Man Utd win the next 4 games before they play Chelsea, we could technically win the title at Stamford Bridge if we win or draw with Chelsea. I so hope that happens, now that would be sweet justice, to take the trophy home with us to its rightful place hehe

Congrates to ManUtd on reaching the FACup final.:=D:

The first FACup final at the old Wembley stadium, in 1923, was between a club from Lancashire (Bolton) and a club from London (WHam). Bolton won 2-0 with one of the goals coming from a player called Smith.

So will another London club - Chelsea - face ManUtd on May 19th at the new Wembley? And will a player call Smith score?...

Spurs first won the FACup in 1901, the last non-league club to achieve this feat.:D

Somebody shoot me.

3-1?

Aston Villa were RUBBISH!

We were just more so.

Downing forgot he was a left winger and spent most of his time quite central not really achieving anything, meaning Taylor was for long periods playing like both the full back and the winger. Southgate didn't fancy either telling him, or even swapping his position with Adam Johnson on the right wing, so the kid would have a chance in his natural position. When Southgate inexplicably subbed off Johnson, Cattermole didn't head over to his spot, leaving Xavier to do all the wing work on the right. Christie should not have been left on for the full game, since he wasn't gonna score if we left him on all week. We then took off our captain, Boateng, again with no particular reason - he'd had a decent enough game - and replaced him with a striker...

By the end of it, we had no shape. Due to rearranging, it appeared we had Christie on the right, a totally uninterested Downing on the left, an overzealous Cattermole in the centre, and Rochemback - who for once was having a decent game. Oh, and Yakubu, who seriously struggles for form when we don't have Viduka, with Dong-Gook Lee as his partner, who needs to find some goals from somewhere before he can really get going.

Full marks to Taylor, Xavier, Johnson, Boateng, and Rochemback. The rest get fuck all.

Rochemback did enough to make me think that he'll do as Arca's backup, if nothing else. And he's scored in the past two games, whether today's was flukey or not.

Yay! Reading finally won a game and might still have a shot for Europe. And I actually got to watch it - the third game of a 6-hour EPL marathon after the dreg that was ManCity-Liverpool (pitiful game) and Boro-Villa (at least there were goals).

But what is prolly most interesting is the race to avoid relegation. Watford's going down, after today likely West Ham. The other one up in the air. Who do you want to go down and why?

^After Al Fayed's shoddy treatment of Chris Coleman this week, I would like to see Fulham go down.

And it could happen. Fulham have 4 games left, and two of those are against Arsenal and Liverpool.

But I stll think Charlton the most likely for the drop. They play @ Everton today.

The other game today - Wigan v Spurs - could be a thriller. Wigan desperately need the points to ensure Premiership status next season. And Spurs need the points to ensure European football next season. Wigan's need is greater, and Spurs will still be recovering from their disappointment of Thursday nite...

I want either Fulham or Charlton to go down. There are a stupidly large amount of clubs from London in the prem, I want it a bit more spread out.

Is there a web site that shows where all the (prem) clubs are located - I have no idea for some of them (like Bolton).

Hi olides!

There sure is... http://footballclubs.dyndns.org/?co=england&league=1

The map is interactive and you can choose to show teams from any or all leagues.

Each team has a "label". Click on the logo to go to the teams website. If you click on the left end (where it says "Map") it will open a new window with a street map of the location of the team's home stadium. You can then click on "Aerial" to see a satellite shot... really cool! ..|

Hope this helps!

Wow, so it's not just london but the manchester-liverpool-blackburn area have 7 clubs. Reckon both areas are over-representec. Learning some geography here.

Well, I suppose ManU Chelsea is what people wanted for the new wembley.

Hi Jake: thanks for that interesting website info...| It seems Man City are playing on a building site.:D Might explain their poor season.;)

Valencia doing Barca a favour tonite leading 2-0 v SeVILLA.;)

Yeah, true, there's a lot in the north west. Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Everton, Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan? They the ones you were thinking of?

In comparison, only two from the north east, Boro and the skunks.
