I'm not going to go into the debate about him being a rapper.
However he doesn't make music for a rap/hip-hop audience. He's a hipster which is a very pro-gay crowd. Not much of a stretch there.

His song "Same Love" gets played over and over on pop stations so much I'm a little bit worried that we're exhausting the general public with constant complaints.
I know he's a well meaning guy, and maybe I'm completely wrong about "Same Love", but I would appreciate it if music were to move on from that song.
