Who will win Presidential election 2012?

Oh Oh. The latest Wisconsin poll has Rimney ahead by three points. Realclearpolitics.com. The Dems are making a bad mistake siding with the public union bosses against homeowners.

If Obama didn't drop in polls in this period, you'd have to check if it was rigged

It's been a disastrous month or so for Pres. Obama where he's had a laundry list of gaffes, losses, fund raising woes (relative to Romney), economic #s etc.

IF Romney weren't surging now you'd say "if not now when"

so reality is Obama IMHO needs to:

craft a narrative that reflects HIS strengths - not anti Romney
be Presidential - not so partisan - be willing to talk about difficulties in the country, not sugar coating or lying about them
craft an economic plan that shows the public what he wants to do, when and why

Romney is almost the forgotten man now - it's like he doesn't exist

it's 24/7 Obama - but that will change

as for NY and Jews - it doesn't matter - put NY in the win column for sure

Which is the same problem for Romney. He still is that etch-a-sketch with no real defining image outside of being Mormon and wealthy.

Again, this needs repeating because it is the truth. Obama's drop in the polls does not translate into the approval of Romney. This is something that most political pundits don't really grasp yet. There's a lot of independents that don't really like either candidate. If we thought 2004 was the election of "douche vs. turd", 2012 is looking to be a repeat.

Including me.

But the way I look at it, a vote for Romney means a return to the same kind of policies that got us into this mess in the first place. As sorry a candidate as Obama seems, I will still feel a need to vote for him.

A vote for Obama keeps us in the same mess we've been in for 3+ years. More spending, more debt, more division, more unemployment, more loss of income, more loss of home value, more of stuff that doesn't work.

^I'm very displeased with Obama, but the alternative is unthinkable.

The reason for my displeasure is that he wasted two full years trying to "compromise" with the Republicans, none of whom had one scintilla of intent of compromising with him. Indeed, Mitch McConnell made it very clear from the outset that the only thing that mattered to them was making Obama a "one-term President".

Obama was a rank amateur who got a big head over the adulation given him by his followers. He knew he was too inexperienced, yet ran anyway.

So, No: I'm not an Obama fan at all.

But still—the alternative is far worse.

Amen -- to all of it. He's been the community organizer and hasn't grown up.

I think what will tip this to Obama is the growing number of people seeing that the Republicans have been sabotaging the economy to make Obama look bad. The figure is about 49% right now, and I expect it to hit 53-54% by November.

Nonsense! How have they sabotaged? They have gone along with Obama on most things except his class warfare. Boo Hoo the Republicans did not kneel and bow their necks to our ax.

You really do live in a fantasy world. Apparently everything you read here gets edited when you log off, and nothing gets remembered except what fits your fantasy world.

They've said they planned to sabotage. And they've carried it out well. Boehner the liar stands there and claims that Obama's economic policies have failed, when he knows that the truth is the Republicans have made sure Obama's economic policies never got implemented.

WHAT????

This may be the single biggest fantasy that I've seen in writing, anywhere, on the Internet since I started websurfing in 2003.

Hell, the Senate filibusters everything that Obama even gives lip service to. If Congress tried to pass a resolution (i.e. something which does not set law in any way) which suggested that Congress should be "more civil" and Obama expressed an opinion that it should pass, they would filibuster THAT.

It's been documented, time and again, that as soon as Obama is "for" any kind of idea which was formerly supported by Republicans, the Republicans suddenly erect a massive unclimbable wall against that very same thing...ONLY because Obama is for it.

And as for class warfare, that is THEIR way of doing things, and quite successfully I may add. The most massive transfer of wealth in the history of the world is happening now, and it's entirely to the 0.2% or 0.5%!!

The Republicans, if they had their way entirely, would probably tax incomes below $50,000 at 200% if they could (YES, poor people would have to forfeit whatever assets they have), with absolutely no tax whatsoever on any income increments over $50,000. the POOR and HANDICAPPED are the only people the Republicans hate even more than gays.

Rather than screeching, please tell us Specifically what important legislation the Republicans in Congress obstructed-- other than the scheme to raise taxes on he few who already pay the taxes.

It's not his obligation to do so.

Please provide ANY important legislation that the Republican Congress has presented and how the minority Democrats have thwarted it.

In case you haven't noticed the Republicans do maintain a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, and because of the 60 vote filibuster in the Senate effectively control that house as well.

So please do tell what pieces of "important" legislation that the Republicans have presented in Washington since the mid terms in 2010. :)

In 67 Kullindahr accused Republican of sabotaging Obama's attempts. Indeed, this is the major theme ofB O's campaign. Boo Hoo I ccould have done every thing but the mean ole Republicans stopped me, for the sole and only purpose of bringing me down.
So my question is, what have the Republicans obstructed other than your class warfare?

Any examples of class warfare? Actual examples with sources and all? And while at it, any examples of relevant occasions of the repubs working with Obama instead of against him?

Keystone Pipeline?

Perhaps you missed the disqualifier:

Most Republican Ranchers in Oklahoma, and Texas were/are opposed to the Keystone Pipeline because House Republicans were willing to use "imminent domain" against them to complete the sections of that pipeline that were needed to get it to the Gulf Refineries.

THEN both Democrats and Republicans discovered that it was oil from Canadian Tar Sands that had to be pumped at a much higher pressure (in existing pipes built for lighter crude), thus risking the possibility of a large oil spill over some of our Nation's largest aquifers to get that nasty tar sands oil from Canada to the Texas Gulf Coast.

IMPORTANT legislation, you know the kind that some "political capital" must be spent to get. ..|

ergo a "leadership role."

You know; important. ;)

the Keystone Pipeline bill was important enough to people that it passed the House and even had 56 votes in the Senate before Harry Reid killed it.

Funny how the Republican Senators didn't use the 60 vote rule to prevent him from doing that. ;)

Or any examples of the House Republicans passing something they knew the Senate Democrats would be willing to discuss.

Of course it passed the House -- it was a good symbolic piece while being a gift to corporations and risking the health of people and ecosystems in a half dozen states... just the thing Republicans love.

And Reid stopped in quite properly -- in fact Republicans, if they had any integrity, would have cheered for him doing so, because he was respecting states' rights.

There are ways to kill bills in the Senate that don't allow any vote at all.

In post #67 of this thread?

Well since you appear to be grabbing at straws, or posting anything that you think that you can get an emotive response from "Kuli's" response is based upon fact:

Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell from Kentucky stated just after the 2010 Mid Term Elections:

Making Obama A One-Term President Is My Single Most Important Political Goal

Not Jobs, not the Economy, Not for America's Middle Class, but making sure that Obama is a One-Term President.

single-most-important...

Did I mention that if the Democrats didn't control the United States Senate that he would be THE Majority Leader?

Eric Cantor, and John Boehner follow his lead anyway.

Am I hable da engrish enough for you?

Indeed, this is the major theme ofB O's campaign. Boo Hoo I ccould have done every thing but the mean ole Republicans stopped me, for the sole and only purpose of bringing me down.
Which is why what passes for "conservative" in this country should be rounded up and deported to places like the America/Mexico Border, and N. Korea.

There seems to be this sense of "entitlement" that they have, that no matter how corrupt, inept, or anti-freedom that you are, that they're somehow a victim for being called on for what they actually represent, and what they honestly stand for.

So my question is, what have the Republicans obstructed other than your class warfare?

"your class warfare."

The only people in this country that OWN (PWND in text speak) are Republicans.

My Gawd! Ever since the Reagan, and especially the fall of Communism they've had to have a "war" against something; War on Drugs, War on Welfare, War on Immigrants, War on Religion, War on Christmas, War on Woman, War on People Declaring War on War, War on ad nausea.

If Republicans and so called "conservatives" want to end the "War on Class Warfare" then THEY should stop waging it. ..|

What say you?

So Ben just to get this clearly with no misinterpretation. You believe that republicans have supported everything coming from the majority Democratic Senate for the last three years? That the filibuster hasn't been used more times in this Presidency than in the last 4 terms of office combined?

Cause if you do i would love to know what color the sun is on your planet.

Seriously though i would like to have it clearly before I decimate you with actual statistical fact.
