Why am i only attracted to white men?

There is no question that the media is constantly emitting the white/caucasian being the beauty standard in our society and anything non-white is definitely treated as second class and in the gay community that's also very true. Just go to all the gay porn sites and look at how they describe non-white models.

I'm full chinese, and i'm only attracted to white men, which i think is really unusual. I mean I'm not even attracted to my own race, people i can most closely relate to. Is anyone else out there like this? Having an attraction to a certain race or skin color? What is your preferred ethnicity/race?

The following is not a generalization of all gay men. It is simply what I've observed.

I think men of European features attract gay men moreso than any other type of ethnic features. I'm not really sure why. I don't think it is a problem. Everyone has their own preference. Are white men held as the standard beauty in the media? I could see how someone would claim so. In mainstream movies aimed for the general audience, a sexy hero is usually a white heterosexual male (some obviously make sense as to why). Is it because black men don't try out for these roles? I am not sure...but in all my favorite movies, including old childhood favorites, I can't really think of any sexy black men as the lead. Not saying these do not exist or anything...

Ever heard someone say 'You act so black'? Well of course. In my opinion, there are plenty of reinforeced sterotypes in the media...of course. When I used to talk to guys online, they would be very surprise to find out that I was black. I got a lot of 'You don't talk/sound black.' People tell me all the time that. And when I look towards the media I can see why some would be slightly thrown off....

Everyone has their tastes though. You can't help it. I don't think you can be wrong for being attracted to one specific race. I'd rather someone show interest in me because they want me, not because they want to test drive me just to prove they are not racist

Oh hey I'm non stereotypical Asian guy, insatiable top, almost 6 feet..... And I do find myself attracted to most nationalities.....

Anyways.... people will be quick to write it off as self-racial-hatred, but I've always thought about it as, you're attracted to your opposite. Especially if you're not familiar or did not grow up with/around a certain race...

Because you're following your PROGRAMMING.. You're just a helpless victim in all of this. It's not your fault that you're self loathing and weak, nor is it your fault that most Asians hate themselves as well. All of you are just following your PROGRAMMING. Nope, not your fault at all.

Lack of exposure and self loathing are two entirely different things.

Funny how you usually wouldn't call a white man who was only attracted Asians (and MANY of these types exist), self-loathing or weak.

You're RIGHT! I wouldn't call a White guy self loathing or weak for ONLY being attracted to Asians. I'd call him someone with a FETISH as I would most people who objectify certain sexual characteristics when considering dating. White guys who typically prefer Men of Colour will usually be over 35-40 yrs old and would have previously resisted dating anyone outside their race. Their advanced age means they have less options, so it makes sense for them to be so "open minded". And as another jubber said earlier; "Where are the White Guys asking why Asian and Black guys aren't into them?"

These "why won't White Guys Love me" threads are so sad and predictable.

Except OP wasn't talking about white guys not loving him at all.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe preferences and people change over time, and diversifying doesn't necessarily have to do with having less people who are attracted to you?

It takes more than physical attraction to hold my attention...but we're talking about basic attraction--so I can say this about white men:

White guys are the complete opposite of what I am...appearance-wise (well, a fair number of them are). While I am very much proud, pleased, and comfortable with my appearance...I get a rush out of someone who looks completely different from me. I mean...a complete 'end-of-the-spectrum' different. I have very dark skin...and I like how pasty white, almost ghostly pale lol a lot of white guys are. There is a fair difference in hair, facial structure, eyes, etc. Call it some sort of fetish I was born with, if you will.

And yes...there are other races who can share some of those characteristics, but it is going to be white guys a fair amount of time.

White guys are that rush for me. And that's the primary reason I have always been attracted to them...by sight. They are my complete opposite.

^ Indeed... which is WHY god created the various races on different continents so they WOULDN'T intermingle and dilute the purity of each race resulting in runts and mongrels.

Well if the races were still segregated then we wouldn't be having this conversation, but there has always been interaction between races regardless. Ethiopians, for example, are part caucasian genetically (like 40/60). They could be called the world's oldest group of mulattoes, although they look black.

i can understand being attracted to guys of other races besides your own but what i can not understand is those people that dont feel attracted to guys of their own race lol
