wuh oh... Kavanaugh is a #metoo

Wait, didn't Shillary lie to the FBI?

I believe in something called reasonable doubt. So far Ford hasn't proved anything, let alone beyond a reaaonable doubt. Until then believe he is innocent.

Quantifying reasonable doubt in decades-old allegations of violent or sex-based crimes is tricky business. all the more, levied against a powerful, politically important man it's like a soccer game, Kavanaugh's team vs the accuser's except the accuser's team has been blindfolded and wear 75 lbs shackles on each ankle. And they don't have shoes. Calling it fair would be a laughable affront, if you're joking. Saying it with a straight face would almost be offensive . That a second alleged victim has come forward and still not put a dent in this man's credibility is a testament to the armor of being a well-connected white man in America, or any man if you're rich. We've seen poor men and men of color accused of non-violent victimless or low level crimes and the narrative isn't ever "Reasonable doubt" but "How fast can we get him booked and in a cell?" Fast isn't fast enough. They're on the express track to jail. We see "Man robbed bank" on the news and get a smug sense of satisfaction that he's in jail without knowing or caring if he actually committed the crime. Meanwhile rich guys do deplorable things, cheat investors, swindle people out of millions or hide money from the govt, or even sexual or violent crimes and they take the scenic route to maybe going to prison.

To be frank, it's not as if you have no vested interest in deflecting charges against Kavanaugh as he stands on your side of the political aisle so anyone could've predicted your tepid response, we're all guilty of bias you're not alone, some of us are just more honest about it than others which makes the texture of discussing such allegegations against a man of his stature pretty shallow, contrition is miles away.

Inarguable fact: In America, some people pay a high price for low crimes, others a low price for high crimes. For reference see the nearest jail.

And the hits just keep a-comin':
New allegations against Kavanaugh submitted to Senate committee

How many is this now... 3? 4?

To those of us with judicious functionality volume is damning. The conspiracy junkies will take this as a deep state operation to ruin Kavanaugh's life so libruls can take over and make everybody gay and Sharia law will be rule of the land et cetera. However, for those of us living inside of reality, when multiple women are accusing the same guy of the same behavior there's too much smoke to not be a fire. Has it ever even happened in history that a large group of woman got together and levied allegations of sexual assault against a man to ruin his life, for financial compentation, and so on? Well, I forgot actually yeah this was a pretty powerful weapon mostly against men who look like me for a long time. So the idea of trumped up charges isn't foreign to me, but I also wasn't born last night. Men, let alone powerful men, have been preying on anything that isn't bolted to the ground, in fact the ground itself, for as long as we've been standing upright so the scoffing and "reasonable doubt" nonsense is just an exercise in sincerity. To some people a live video feed of the assault wouldn't be proof enough. Facts.

Boy I hope she's video, audio or a written and signed confession because "innocent until proven guilty" for a powerful man dictates that it's impossible to believe, right off the gate, that a high school student would be acting wild at a party, where alcohol was served no less. Drunk guys in high school partying? Pffft, how often does THAT happen?

The first one was no good because she couldn't remember details. The second one changed her mind and won't testify under oath, now magically a third one comes forth with much detail AND wants to testify under oath. Wow, the left will stop at nothing. I'm betting that someone has affidavits from Mother Teresa and Princess Diana that Judge Kavanaugh gang raped them with his buddies and a bunch of farm animals back in the 80's. Maybe even a video too.

Very telling choice of words. Very very very very telling.

The second one changed her mind and won't testify under oath

I can't imagine why, testifying against powerful men about improprieties long past is usually easy as A, B, C. Oh wait....

now magically

Remember how I said your first sentence was very telling x5? Cancel that. The bolded word above sets the pace for this entire post.

I can't even pretend to not know that party affiliation is at work. Party-pushers [my new word for this rabid breed of voters] will stop at nothing to obfuscate political issues and set fire to anything remotely resembling intellectual and intellectually honest discourse. They would vote for Satan himself if he came to earth and ran on their party's ticket with the ghost of Charles Manson as VP.

This is already socially and politically dangerous, and annoying, but it becomes so much more vulgar and inappropriate when talking about sexual assault. You'd think that'd be one area where people put their blind devotion to elephant/donkey aside and say "Ok let's figure this out." But it surprises me none, the malevolence of a determined human being knows no depths, nothing is too undignified or malicious.

I'm betting that someone has affidavits from Mother Teresa and Princess Diana that Judge Kavanaugh gang raped them with his buddies and a bunch of farm animals back in the 80's. Maybe even a video too.

And now, outright silliness. Yeah. Good to see we're reeeeeeally taking these accusations seriously.

'Reasonable doubt' applies to the courts, and so far, Ford hasn't had the chance to prove anything.

There is so much about life that you don't know, but you still use it to try to prove your arguments.

Nor has Kavanaugh had a chance to defend himself.

I am all for this. No one wants a potential criminal sitting in judgement over us.

An FBI investigation and the courts will clear his name. A bunch of politicians and a sexual abuser president will not do. As a judge himself, Kavanaugh would agree I'm sure.

Yeahhhh, we tried the FBi investigation and Mr Innocent Mr Nothingtohide isn't really playing along. If he were a democrat this would outrage republicans and surely be the only sign they need that he's guilty as sin. And, if I'm not mistaken, from the day the accusation was first made, if the FBI began their investigation it could potentially already be over by now and we'd be discussing the findings of that investigation instead of arguing over legal semantics that could apply if/when we get actual information. Again, it's not Mrs Ford that is unwilling to talk to the feds... that would be Mr Itotallydidntdoit.

The thing to remember is he isn't facing prison time. It's that he will be getting a lifetime promotion to the highest Court in the land. Background investigations in situations like this would be a no brainer... but living in Trump's America, common sense goes out the window entirely.

It would raise awkward questions if Trump and his GOP withdrew their candidate on these grounds. Because Trump himself is a sexual abuser.

The thing to remember is he isn't facing prison time...
Not from the Congressional hearing.

However, not all States have a statute of limitation on sex crimes. Even if Kavanaugh were to get onto the Court, there's a very real possibility that all of these stories about women being drugged and gang raped might spur a State criminal investigation.

One of the reasons that Kavanaugh is looking nervous is that he knows that if even one of these allegations proves true, his career on any bench is over. He didn't do himself any favors by putting all those things in his yearbook (which he claims now that he didn't know what they meant?).

The latest is that two other guys came forward claiming that it was them who "harassed" Ford at a party in High School. Mistaken identity. Wow, so crazy. I wonder if they'll be allowed to testify.

So, two men are more believable than five women?

Justice requires that the investigation must go on whether Kavanaugh is on the SC or not.
