They were eagerly awaiting their assured 5-4 majority which would vote YES to give the president unconditional power and unaccountability, and now that's not going to happen...at least not right away.

And let's not pretend like if they show up her detractors would change their minds. They'd still be skeptical and find some way to spin that family support as a negative or sign of guilt. I got this one. His behavior was very common of abusive men. The emotional posturing, the self-victimizing, the angry lashing out, the threats, those are all things men do when confronted by the pain they inflict on others. Russell Ford did file an affidavit with the Judiciary Committee attesting to his discussions with his wife about the alleged assault and that those discussions were before Kavanaugh's nomination to the Court.

Not that it matters, but there were Press reports that the Fords decided to keep their children in school in California and to not disrupt their lives any more than they had already been disrupted. Russell Ford remained in California with the children.
