Did I mention I am waaaaay excited about this film's release?!

The timeline in this film is shocking, Emma is the same age as Professor X and she is dating Cyclops. LOL So screwed up it's shameful.

There doesnt seem to be much intrest in this movie. I wonder why?

I am not terribly impressed with the line up of characters they chose. Emma Frost is exciting. I'm pumped for that. Young Xavier; also exciting. Magneto... again? Fuck. Beast never struck a chord with me. That said, I already promised two grups of friends I'd see the movie. So I'll be seeing it on June third as well as on June 5th. So it better not disappoint.

You could be right. I only learned of this movie a week or so ago. Normally the fan boys would have been chatting about it by now. You think maybe the studio has little hope for this film?

The studio is approaching this with major trepidation. It's a great looking film, but the sheer number of character issues is keeping fanboys from it.

That's a bit of good news.

My only worry is that they chose a very odd collection of mutants (to me) to serve as the X-Men this go-round. Maybe Marvel thought that the "traditional" line-up we've seen in the previous movies was tired?

At any rate, Havok has long been one of my favorite characters. I'm just glad he's getting some screen time! :D

My only hope is that there is no Black Tom in this movie...ugh, what a lame villain.

I think Magneto is lame. He used to be cool. I just think he's overused... like the Joker.

Fair enough, FoF. I can see where you're coming from though. In my mind, Ra's Al-Ghul long ago supplanted the Joker as Batman's "best villain" but that's just my own personal opinion and overexposure is a large part of the reason why.

My memory of Magneto is still stuck in the early to mid 90s version where he was badass. I stopped reading X-Men after Claremont left the title so I can't speak to what they've done with him since. Although I did read a synopsis of from the House of M up to the present day and let's just say I don't like what I read...

Magneto's interaction with Rogue after she came out of the Siege Perilous in the Savage Land is probably my favorite incarnation of him to date (taking the above caveat into consideration).

As much as I try I cannot seem to get interested. Sure there is creative liberty and then there is I'm going to do whatever the hell I please. The last two releases show this. I cannot understand what you would want to alienate the base, it's more money.

The trailors didnt impress me but I'm gonna check it out this weekend...

Will they ever get around to tellling "Storm's" story? She's one of the most Powerful Mutants and the Film writers keep her in the background...

I'd really like them to do the Dark Phoenix story again, and do it properly, not having it as a peripheral point in X3. It is one of the best story arcs out there!!

Dark Phoenix is one of my favorite X Men arcs too... but again... starting to get tired of it. I'm starting to get pumped for this movie... I think it's cool that it takes place during the Kennedy administration.

Just saw the film. It's very good. Solid and very fun.

All I can say of Michael Fassbender is - HOT HOT HOT!!!!

For once, I am hoping there's a sequel to this film.

Saw it last night and i loved it!
They really shouldnt have made the Wolverine movie because they kinda messed up with the timeline of the films.

But yeah im glad we got to see some new powers and not just 'Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Wolverine'. Hope theres a 2nd class :)
oh and random but in the animated series (old one) isnt Havok Cyclop's younger brother? But him been in the first xmen team would make him older? plus scott isnt even born yet? :S confusing

If my failing memory serves me correctly, Alex has always been younger than Scott in the comics continuity. The only possible lapse in this may have been when Havok, Dazzler, Psylocke and Rogue went through the Siege Perilous right before the Acts of Vengeance storyline began...but I'm not entirely sure.

I think they had to mess around with the backgrounds of characters to fit the new ones in if you consider the "current" X-Men timeline. All in all, it's a fairly egregious "mistake" to call the movie X-Men: First Class when the only original member of the Xavier Institute to appear in the film is the Beast. But as you said, they definitely wanted to get away from the traditional mutants so that's enough of a justification for me in this case.

I'm seeing this tomorrow night after work, so I'm glad that those of you who saw it a) know what you're looking at and b) still thought it was good.

Saw it last night...It was good..The special effects were on-point and so was the Casting..I Love Kevin Bacon when he's BAD..He always delivers..

I'm not a Comic-Geek so I never heard of the "Emma Frost" chick until I came to JUB...She is no-joke..

I thought the pic of Albert Einstein on Charles's dresser was interesting...It was next to a Family photo as if to say Albert was a relative...

There probably will be a part 2 but I'd rather the Studio pick another Mutant's story to tell..."First Class" left off in the 60's, Fast-Forward 40yrs later and the First "X-Men" flick is your part 2..

Everyone waited till the End of the Credits for "Extra scenes"...It Didnt happen...So go home folks and don't wait an extra 5-min...
