YAY Baseball!!!!!!!

.............

what's funny about that is the media in STL blew it totally outta proportion...

Albert didn't give a shit (after the fact) and Tony said he regretted it (after the fact)

what Tony needs to realize is that the Cards are sucking ass right now!!! Fuck the All Star game for now - although I did enjoy all of it!!

and sonny sweets - your Mets??? Why did ESPN just waste 4.7 minutes of my life saying how they've been 2-6??

oh wait...it's a New York team :p

Halfway boys!! Hopes to a great second half!! ..|

Didn't Tony pulled the same crap with Rolen?

Yeah I know "my Mets" have been pretty much dead offensively, and I don't think firing Rick Down (one of the hardest working coach's in baseball) is the answer.
It is a calculated risk, If the Mets are to pull out of their first-half funk, that responsibility falls to the players.
I am also pissed over the cutting loose of Julio Franco, a respected veteran whose leadership was apparently no longer required.

As for the Henderson as first base coach, and Johnson as hitting coach, Henderson, 48, has never been a coach and is not even officially retired. The one thing he does bring is an impressive resume as baseball's all-time leader in runs
(2,295) and stolen bases (1,406). He is also a 10-time All-Star and 1990 AL MVP has occasionally helped the Mets the past two years as a special instructor in spring training and during the regular season, especially with their baserunning.

Johnson played for the Mets from 1985-93 and was a two-time All-Star.
He hit .249with 228 home runs and 760 RBIs and stole about 230 bases in a 14-year career with Detroit, the Mets, Colorado and the Cubs.
A switch hitter and a fast ball killer, he Held the single-season National League record for home runs by a switch hitter.

So time will tell, LET'S GO METS

sonny -

I hate the Cubs with an undying passion...

that's all.

Oh man I hear ya dude, it's been a long winter without baseball.
I am a major Mets fan and have been since I was a kid, my dad took me to my first game when I was 8 and I was hooked, even signing up for little league.
I still play (third) whenever the boys and I can get together.
Three of us are going to Mets opening day on Monday, my goal this year is to meet David Wright. I want him bad

I am a major Mets fan too and I wish you good luck in meeting David.

I am quoting myself only because I hope it brings the Cards luck this weekend versus the despised Cubs! Can't wait! (!)

(oh yeah, and the sweep of the 1st place Brewers was pretty sweet too ;) )

I wish your Cards good luck, but I think the Cubs will be hard to beat... They are much better in the 2nd half this year.

I totally agree with you..., THE CUBS SUCK!!!!!
Go Cardinals

Well Cory, this was a great thread, baseball is over till next year. :(
It was not such a good year for us New Yorkers, and a worse ending for my friends in Colorado.
But wait, there is always 2008 which will be here before we know it.
Everyone gets a fresh new start and the dark days if '07 will be forgotten.

So here's to YAY BASEBALL 2008!!!! :=D:

Bradlee is real busy this week, so until he can top it with all his Red Sox stuff here is Shep's finishing touches.

Red Sox are
World Series Champions

You and 12 other people

Yes, the Miami Marlins have the worst record in the NL. However, the Marlins also have an excellent, young pitching staff. Derek Jeter, Michael Hill, etc...are slowly building a championship team. In the next 2-3 years, expect the Marlins to contend for a playoff spot.

I still hate the Marlins after the Indians lost the World Series to them back in '97. Sorry

Yes, I can understand that. Jose Mesa had a chance to get it done for the Indians in the 9th inning, but did not.

The Marlins were the opponent June 5, for Pride Night at the Milwaukee Brewers. I was there. The Marlins looked mighty good...Anderson hit a GRAND SLAM and Miami won, 8-3. I wonder how they can be a last-place team when they looked SO good against a playoff contender.
