Something tells me I may have eaten at Chick-Fil-A somewhere in the Maryland suburbs in the 1980's, but I'm not at all sure. If I've ever eaten at one, it hasn't been recently at all.

For one thing, I've NEVER cared that much for chicken fillets/nuggets - chicken, for me, is still the definitive finger food, and there are SUPPOSED to be bones in it, unless it's used as an *ingredient* in something (such as in a chicken salad, or General Tso's chicken, etc.).

So my "boycott" is more a continuation of what I've always avoided, LOL.

Chik-fil-A was my favorite place to eat as a kid. It's good for fast food/food court junk, which my standards remain quite low for.

I will try my best to avoid the place. It shouldn't be too difficult considering I loathe visits to the mall and have so little money to spend there. Even when I do it tends to be on Sundays, when the big Chik is closed.

My favorite local falafel joint is also closed on Sundays, when I always want to dine there. They have the most delicious pitas! I'm quite sure they enjoy gay people though.

I rarely eat at Chick-fil-A but I will not be boycotting them. My local Chick-fil-A is owned and operated by a friend of mine who happens to be a lesbian. She's a great restaurant manager and treats all of her customers respectfully and with dignity. I won't do anything that brings her harm. Why should she have to pay for corporate's opinions?

I think it's more about them funding an anti-gay group. Nobody has to say they like anyone.

She should contact the corporation about this issue and state her disapproval of it. And if they ignore her, she should seriously look into reopening her business under her own name and create a new competitor for them.
