10-02-10 March On Washington..

And again, we have that "photoshopped thing" because I can't find that picture in a cache anywhere. Only on conservative blogs that are trying to distort facts in order to derail any real conversation.

hm. wonder why that is.

Someone from One Nation already admitted it was there and removed the image shortly afterwards, once people realized it was a bold faced lie. They're now in damage control, denying they tried to pass it off as an image from 10-2. Right! If their gathering was so big why wouldn't they have used a photo from that day in the first place? Well, we all know the answer: because it wasn't a big gathering, it was relatively small.

To the pixie and laitka trolls please post what you specifically have an issue with regarding this rally! Please tell us which part or parts of the speeches or presentations of this rally you disagree with. Again, be specific! If you cannot tell us what you disagree with then you must avoid this thread or admit to not having any idea what you are talking about. So what is it going to be?

“That was the signature picture from the beginning,”
so how could anyone say they are trying to label this as a pic from 10-2?

it's so much fun playing with you, you even deliver the proof for the falseness of your arguments :D

[edit]
also what kind of fucked up script is on that website that causes my windows aero to disable for the firefox window?

[edit2]
i count at least 6 tracking javascripts, one webbug and 2 more scripts that were blocked by a privacy addon .. scary

Well that, too.

considering they were using that picture for weeks before the protest... I can see what argument they're using but it's not a very good one.

I suppose as conservative slant goes, it's better than the ones Orly Tatiz uses to prove the president is from Kenya and eats live babies...

Molten, I'll ask you nicely like I did with Jasun. Please stop the personal name calling and follow the rules. If you can't play nice with others you should go vent your deep seeded anger someplace else. Do you really expect someone to reply to you with a serious response right after you insult them?

•Do not intentionally misspell or misrepresent a fellow JUBer's screen name for any reason, most especially to bait or insult him/her.

I'll say it once again. They posted the MLK 1963 speech photo on their website with a big THANK YOU written over it to insinuate it was actually taken during the 10-2 rally. It was posted the day after the rally, not weeks prior like Jasun claims. Never underestimate the power of mockery.

Except no... they were using that image for weeks before to promote the rally. Not with "thankyou" over it... but the image itself... yes... they were using that.

laika - you seem to favor the tea party folk over progressives. OK. You also claim to be gay. OK.

Now if these tea party folks, like Beck and his crowd, get power and start firing gay teachers, installing creationism in schools and work to enforce/reinstate sodomy laws, where will you stand?

A little paranoid, dont you think.

A little paranoid, dont you think.

Um... they're already doing it.

Gay teacher fired this week for saying he was gay.

Texas re-writing their school books to include Creationism.

Minnesota Republican Platform is to make being gay illegal.

So no... not paranoid at all. I'd say you'd have to be an idiot not to see it.. but...well....

A little paranoid, dont you think.

It's the only platform Democrats have to run on - Fearmongering.

By the way Jasun, what would Glenn Beck or the Tea Party have to do with a teacher being fired in liberal Oregon? Absolutely nothing. You're just sowing more and more fear. And whats wrong with children be able to hear both sides of the argument in their textbooks?

And whats wrong with children be able to hear both sides of the argument in their textbooks?

There's nothing wrong. They can read about creationism in Sunday school or private Bible study classes. But creationism should not be taught in public schools.

There are no "two sides" to "the argument."

Creationism is just religion which has no place in a public school. There is no scientific fact to it. It's just made up. Not real.

If you're going to teach that, I hope you'll also teach Islam and Hinduism. Maybe reincarnation.

No?

then take your faery takes back to church where they belong.

A little paranoid, dont you think.

certainly Jason answered those points eloquently. But what do you think would happen to the US lead in science research if creationism - purposely false science - is enshrined? Maybe you all would be happy going to a doctor trained in Kirk Cameron's version of biology, but I'll take a pass.

Do you think creationist types lead the space program? Created the technologies needed for the computer you are typing on? The internet it passes through? China would love to take the lead in these areas. But you'd rather listen to Glenn Beck. Fair enough.

My first vote for president was Ronald Reagan in 1984. I was working for what was quaintly called "a superegional" bank during the crash of 1987. And then I saw an earlier real estate meltdown followed by another downturn in the economy.

I did some reading, and learned that these cycles of boom-bust are endemic to unregulated capitalism. And before there was true gov't intervention, people starved. Like, to death, ya know. And after working with conservative bankers, I realized yes, they are critical to growth. But left on their own, they can hobble an economy. Especially at the end of a growth cycle, when some desperately need to make a payment on that Vail ski lodge. Just one more commission check and Ill be good.

And it's funny: gay republicans seem to count on liberal enclaves to keep gay rights alive. Isn't that hypocritical? I mean, do you really think that say, South Carolina , Georgia or Texas wouldn't enforce sodomy laws? If they could get away with it, they love to announce they were over ruling courts "by popular demand and the blessing of Christ our Lord." But you seem to count on liberal Oregon or liberal Mass. Don't gays in Texas deserve protection?

"Liberal Oregon?"

You don't read Kulidar's posts, clearly.

And Are you saying that they don't have TVs or Tea Baggers in Oregon?

Wow... you really are totally full of shit. 100%.

Like... 110% shit. Kinda... Super-saturated Shit.

I can smell you from here.

Smells like Abercrombie.(!)

Tea Baggers? What do people who are involved in sexual hazing acts have to do with this?

I'm finding it difficult to find a reply from you that isn't laced with insults and dripping with disdain. You're one angry man.

Creationism is just religion which has no place in a public school. There is no scientific fact to it. It's just made up. Not real.

If "creationism" and "young Earth tenants" are being taught in public schools, then I demand that the Flying Spaghetti Monster proof must be taught too. Not to mention the overwhelming evidence of Xenu, our savior from another planet. But most importantly the known fact of reincarnation we Taoists and Buddhists know is true must be taught. No ifs. No ands. No buts.
