2011 JUB Meet - Portland, Oregon - August 5-7

We've got our TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS completed!!! ..|

Well -- the FLIGHT anyways... ;)

BOTH opinterph and I are REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to meeting everyone out there... :D

It's going to be an AWESOME WEEKEND!!!

OK...

We were looking at the different areas around Downtown Portland and REALIZED that it was WAY CHEAPER and NOT INCONVENIENT to stay by the Convention Center, Rose Quarter, Lloyd Centre Mall (just across the river from downtown)...

ALSO -- FREE FARES to ride the transit system!!! ..|

We bought our hotel on Priceline -- and was somewhat HORRIFIED at what we ended up with... :lol:

BUT -- NineOfClubs came to our rescue and actually VISITED the hotel tonight!!! :D

AND -- HE TOOK PHOTO'S!!! :gogirl:

NOTE -- it is only 1 to 3 stops from pretty much EVERYTHING downtown -- and only 5 blocks from the major mall...

This is going to be a GREAT hotel to stay at for an AWESOME JUB Meet!!! :D

In case YOU are considering your reservations -- we got this for $61/night on Priceline (total for 4 nights was $285)...

And our ROUND TRIP airfare (per person) from Atlanta was $329...

It is NOT too expensive to come to JUB'S 2011 PREMIERE MEET!!! (!)

I made it out to Portland for the afternoon yesterday...

And even though it was REALLY COLD -- NineOfClubs and I went bicycle riding...

Once we got downtown we hit the bicycle/jogging trails down by the river...

Here is a shot of the river with the Morrison Bridge off in the distance...

THEN -- he told me about a REALLY COOL bicycle bridge (at a lower level -- almost water level -- of the MAIN bridge) -- here is a photo of the Steel Bridge

I had plan to come but I checked with work and can't take vacation at that time. The only person who could halfway cover for me is on vacation from July 19th until August 22nd.

Aww,rats!:(Well,glad you at least could find out well in advance but that coworker taking five consecutive weeks...hell,at my workplace that would be frowned on if not outright rejected....hey,you tried,and your heart was in the right place!
