We've had several suggestions for new forums. If you could just pick one, what would it be? (See poll) We want your feedback! :D

To be honest, of the different sections here, I frequent two of them, and occasionally stop by two others. That's four out of...how many? So adding more obviously is no skin off my teeth. :)

Of the ones listed, I'd probably visit the travel one most. But I'd probably be mildly interested in both the science and pet ones, too. Interior design probably wouldn't help me much, unless there are threads on "sprucing up your cinderblock/2x4 shelving". :)

I selected Science because that's my personal favorite. Home design would be a close second because I didn't get that gene and I don't have a clue. You might want to make it Home decorating, Interior design and Fashion. I didn't get the fashion gene either. I could use the Fab 5.

I couldnt vote for more than one so had to go for other :D
Travel definately (and I am a big girl, so cooking too hehe)

I said nothing, mainly because (1) I wouldn't participate in any of the choices and (2) most of them seem to me to be 'niche' categories i.e. perfectly capable of being posted in Hot Topics. I'm talking about the Home Decorating, Travel and Pets options.

Science would get a reasonable amount of posts, so I can imagine that being turned into a board. I don't know how many posters struggle with their gender identity, but if there are many, I could see that being turned into a board too. Perhaps, if there are many more topics suitable for a flame-free discussion, it's possible to create a 'Other Topics' board in the No Flame Zone. A board for any topic someone doesn't want flames/hijacks on.

I voted science because it is that which will lead us forward we rely on it so much now just to make this site available. To have any understanding of the future we need to have a space where we can seriously discuss it. We individually may not change the world but we might give food for thought to those who in the future can.

Having just read DutchECK's post perhaps any new science forum should be set up in the "no flame zone" to encourage serious discussion. Anybody seriously interested in science should be able to discuss it without flaming others.

Travel - I'd like to hear about gay friendly businesses, bar, restaturants and hotels in other parts of the world.

Oh my god that's an amazing idea!!! I so love it!! It would be a little mini hot topics that is guaranteed to be a no flame discussion so that people could have their serious topics without worry of flame posts, disruptive posts, and the mushrooming of satire threads!! Then if someone wanted to have a serious discussion about gender identity or whatever .... GREAT IDEA!!

I'm going to add it as a poll option!

I voted for Androgyny and Gender Identification--- could be an important thread for a segment of our community that may be lacking good means of communication.

Its time JUB grows up a little bit as to become more appealing to wider range of people.

I think its come a long way, after reading about LMAO and the 'good old days' way before my time. I come here mainly to chat 85% of the time, and occasionally view the porn. It's grown up because it's no longer about sex, it is about mental stimulation on many levels too.

i can easily see discussions of any of these topics fitting nicely into the forums already in place, but if there is enough interest in a single topic like these, why not create more than one?

of the ideas offered I voted for a science forum since i LOVE science and technology, but i'd like to tap into JUBbers' travel experiences also

one of the things i most like about JUBtown is the Mods' willingness to actively participate rather than just police....and the willingness to accept suggestions and input from the members rather than just dictate....THANKS!!!...

I picked Science... it could be integrated into the Tech and Computer forum easily by change of name...Science and Technology...since the two fields are closely related. Some of the recent threads in this field that I've seen in Hot Topics are interesting...but often to long to read during some visits...if they were in another forum besides Hot Topics...that didn't have as high a turnover rate, I could easily find them when I have more time to read it.

Other than that...I'd probably only participate in Decorating/Design Forum (which could perhaps include photography and gardening too?) and Travel Forum (but this not as much)...but in my history of being here, I haven't seen that many threads on these topics...I'm not sure they have enough popularity to warrant their own forums...but I do like the idea though.

Another comment, is that the Current Events and Politics is too much political discussion for my taste...and many current events (or "in the news") topics are posted in Hot Topics...which get lost in the silly, trivial, congratulatory, birthday, ramblings, etc., type threads. Some of the current event topics are interesting to read...but don't necessarily warrant comments...and thus quickly slip away. I wouldn't mind seeing distinctions/separations somehow...not exactly sure how though. I like the variety and spice in Hot Topics...but it just gets so busy sometimes.

And one more thing...I'm not a big fan of adding any more "no flame" areas...I like the heated and lively discussions that force people to think beforehand, defend and be held accountable for their words.

I voted science, but I'm worried about diluting the content by spreading it through too many forums.

Like Lex above, I only frequent a couple of them on here. There are several I have never ventured into and am unlikely to venture into, and it will be the same with a lot of the proposed new ones.

I'm not sure I get "Androgyny and Gender Identity Forum". I mean we already have "Coming Out & Relationships". Isn't that pretty much along the same lines?
