Exactly that comment tells you why I don't go for guys my age even though I am only 19. However I am open-minded I am quite mature in the way I present myself , how I talk etc but I can have my childish moments lol but some older guys tend to appreciate diversity, are open-minded, they still kept that spark in them that can ignite real love while some have succumbed to the superficial and materlistic ways of the world - most young guys are just to damn superficial and the only discussions you can really have with them is about the latest trend and all other things that are of no merit. Also you have to look like a model, be skinny and just like that guy on magazines, on TV etc.

Sorry but I will only change my opinion and stance on that until I meet a decent enough guy of my own age who can look past that shit and hopefully we ca build a foundation together that can stand the test of this world

It really does not matter how old a guy is physically its his youthful heart that matters.. I'd rather cuddle up with a real man who lets his essence shine than with someone who is to insecure and confused to really share it but I will not exclude you because you human like everyone else, you were just made into a product by society but only until you fight against that oppression within yourself then I will just look the other way.

If you 30 and gay please stop thinking your life is over that is a turn-off - BABY everyday is a new day and you should live it to the fullest!! Don't matter if you have a tummy and you hairy. Have some self-respect for yourself and others and don't allow ignorance to fuck up your thinking! PEACE

Everyone gets old. That's fine. For all you "old" guys who are only dating young guys - you accuse me of being narrowminded. OK - so why don't you find "old" guys attractive? I mean we have a legion of young guys saying "old" guys are amazing - so diverse, open minded, great lovemakers, mature - these are positive qualities. Why don't you like them? What's so great about the "young superficial" boring guys?

I don't think there is a huge age gap between my ex and I. When you're with someone you truly love, it doesn't matter if there's 1 or 10 years between the two of you. I didn't even think about it. The only time it got in the way was when he wanted to go to the casinos and I couldn't, or if he wanted to take me to some 21+ restaurants. It's not like I was thinking about him being 11 years older than me every time I was with him. He's hot, in good shape, and looks like he's 26ish. It was more of a problem for him than me, mainly because of people he knows calling him a baby-raper for dating me. It's nice to know that people can't mind their own business when a couple is together and happy. It's ok, just don't expect for anyone to stand up for you when some homophobe tells you it's wrong for you to be with a man, and you need to start dating women because they're better.

It was an analogy for the gay/bi guys boys that think no guy should date a guy that they consider is too old for them because it's disgusting and gross.

To answer your question, I think and I maybe totally wrong here, but the "old guys" your referring too grew up being gay in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Not the best of times to be gay. There guys on here that go further back and I'm sure it was no picnic for them either. So maybe these "older" guys sometimes chase after younger guys to make up for time that they feel they lost in there youth?

Maybe it's all a sense of personal tastes too. Like some older guys like younger guys and some older guys like guys there own age. Just like you've stated that you only like guys in your age group. It's personal taste and there's nothing wrong with stating that. But if some guy comes on here and posts "Oh god. you guys suck. Who wants to be with old, fat, ugly guys? There so creepy and disgusting!! I only date guys my own age etc." is asking for trouble.

It be better to just say "I like guys my own age, for me it's a personal choice. I don't feel comfortable with anybody but guys my own age for dating."

There are (as you say) "older guys" that are dating guys within there own age. We just don't hear about them. Why? Cause there's no story. No glory. It's a media thing I guess. I'm sure there's alot more younger gay guys here on Jub then "older guys". Why? Cause your generation unlike my generation (I'm assuming your around 21 years of age....I'm 33) your generation was born with this thing called the internet already established. Where as my generation watched the internet "get born". My first taste of the internet was dialing into BBC's programs and chatting with people. It was all new. Hell, I taught myself how to use the damn internet! It wasn't this easy or user friendly at the beginning and microsoft ran everything. But now I'm becoming one of those old guys that talks about walking in snow that touched hydro lines etc. So i'm going to go now!

I know. I was trying to be sarcastic. I think you're right screwnutty, not disagreeing. For the most part I'm live and let live if it's two consenting adults. But there are two factors that bug me about older/younger relationships. One: A lot of older guys are predatory and make places that should be fun (like bathhouses or bars) into a somewhat dangerous and disturbing experience. and Two: A disproportionately high amount of young guys chase older guys, limiting the pool for us even further.

PS: 33 is not old. I'm talking 40s, 50s, 60s. Then again, there are 30 year olds who look geriatric and 45 year olds who look like youth.

Oh yeah I agree but to be fair there is also some young guys that do the same thing when all i want to do is just relax and enjoy a good drink!

As for young guys who chase older guys. Theres nothing you can do. There not going to change. So I dont know what to say here for ya!

It's such a bizarre paradox, we claim that the gay community is so image focused and old fat guys are worthless, but then there's that large contingent of young cute things looking for older heavier things.... for FREE. so as many of you have noted its not even a bad thing to be middle aged and heavy and gay, I don't get why some of you claim it is. in the straight community that doesn't happy unless "daddy" got a deep wallet.

How about, young guys stop looking for that with older guys and try to figure it out together. And Ive been with a few older guys sexually and they have all ben aweful, it wont ever happen again. Weather you are skinny or fat, if u are over 30 and want a young guy, take a moment and realise you are wasteing your time, Age is not a number it is a count of maturity and the more numbers u have the more mature and boring you are.

Not saying that you're after that and I do know there are blokey 23yo's around (and I'm a big fan of them too!), but overall I find older guys (usually 30-35, up to 44 now) more attractive.
