I agree that she had the biggest range of the people you named, but they're probably still here because, whether successfully or not, they took chances with some faster-paced songs and they switched things up, different arrangements every week. This isn't American Range, it's American Idol. People are looking for more than big finishing notes, they want character. She hid behind her microphone.
Truthfully, the inconsistency is a problem for any contestant trying to do better.
Naima switched things up and was always willing to try something different. However, the week after the save it didn't work so well so she was sent packing with Thia.
The judges really can't make up their damn minds.
They told Pia to switch it up week after week.
Meanwhile, they tell Scotty to stick with his one trick.
And still, they obsessively praise even the worst performances.
Why Jacob didn't go home is beyond me. That disgustingly arrogant comment should have been the end of him. It's not like he's got some great talent worth keeping.
Hell, none of them really do.
If Stefano actually has a good voice, he might want to pull it out just in case the voters decide they do want talent.
James seems to want to be his own original mix of Adam Lambert...and he's not very good at it.
Scotty does the same voice and the same weird lean sing thing every week. This week was complete with staged group of mobbing girls.
Haley has talent, but she's a real hit or miss. I've said if there is a dark horse this time, it is her.
Casey is Casey. He growls and looks constipated and the judges orgasm over him no matter how bad he is.
Paul I don't get. I don't know what the hell he is still doing here.
Laruen is Lauren. Most polarizing contestant this time around. Everyone I see either loves her or hates her.
Jacob is a black church queen and they act like they've discovered something with him. Go to any black church choir and you'll probably find another. He's arrogant and lacks the talent to back it.
Meanwhile, the judges don't know what the hell they are doing. They orgasmed over Casey's use of the bass, for which I wanted to bash Randy's skull in. Don't insult classically trained musicians, we tend to get a little pissed off and instrument strings are pretty good choking devices.
Whoever wins this season, they'll probably do even worse than last season's winner.
Well, maybe not Scotty. His base is rather big, though I really don't get why.
Overall, this needs to be the end of the show. They promised big changes and haven't dont shit. Well, unless you count that the judges are worse than ever, completely incapably of true criticism.
No, the show is way past due and needs to die.
