'American Idol' Season 12

Now that all of the cock is gone, I can't wait to see how badly this season flounders in the ratings as the angry housewives flee in anger. Hopefully it dips so low that Survivor beats it again. :3

To the person(s) who said Candice does not have potential to sell out arenas: I went on YouTube to get my "Lovesong" fix from Candy girl, and it looks like I'm not the only one. Candice's video has 900,000+ more views than the others. I'm pretty sure America doesn't love her.

I stopped watching. I don't really care who wins. I might tune in to the finale if there is a sing off between Mariah and Nicki. But that's all I really wanted to see since first gearing about the feud between them. Then when Glee did a Mariah and Nicki battle, it gave me hope that this is something that is coming.

now mind you i havent watched at all this season, but commenting on if an idol can sell out arenas and concerts, that might mean an idol, but those people dont always win, i remember that right after kris allen won, he was coming to a large concert venue where i was and a few weeks before the show, they changed the tickets to buy 1 get one 1 just to fill the seats, and this guy won, this show has always shown that winning doesnt mean anything, daughtry, hudson, lambert, mcphee, all technical 'losers' in the competition but still doing a shit ton more that most of the winners now.
Even if Adam Lambert would've won instead of Kris, he wouldn't have been able to sell out arenas either. Hudson's fame comes mainly from her acting career. She did win an Academy Award after all. But as far as her singing career goes, not even she could sell out an arena. The only real idols to have come out from the show are Kelly, Carrie, and Chris Daughtry. Realistically though Daughtry has had a lot of success only because he received the most promotion out of all the contestants from his season. Not even the winner nor the runner-up (McPhee) received as much post-show promotion as Daughtry did. It's obvious that the producers of the show wanted a rocker to win the competition that season. And when he didn't win, they still went ahead and promoted him like crazy.

^Daughty's music has fizzled out over the years though but he still makes good money off touring. In terms of commercial success, Idol graduates still do well, but the show has yet to find someone with enough worldwide appeal and lasting power as their original winner. From May 2011 to May 2012, the highest earning Idols were:

Kelly Clarkson - $8 mil
Carrie Underwood & Chris Daughtry - $5 mil each
Scotty McCreery - $4 mil
Jennifer Judson - $3 mil
Jordin Sparks - $2 mil
Adam Lambert - $1.5 mil
Katharine McPhee & Kellie Pickler - $1.1 mil each
David Archuleta & David Cook - $1 mil each

So I mean, technically Idol still gives potential contestants the best shot because it has credibility. This doesn't mean they will sell out concerts and arenas though. But statistically, Idol contestants make more chart impact than other reality singing show contestants.

The Voice wins in ratings over Idol but their contestants haven't done much if anything on the charts so it makes you wonder. Idol has been around for a while, and The Voice hasn't been able to match Idol's highest ratings, even though it's newer in the public eye and Idol is very old by TV show standards. X Factor (US) is in the same boat as The Voice, only it does worse in the ratings. But it also hasn't produced a legitimate star despite providing winners with a $5 mil recording contract.

X Factor (UK) has credibility though because some very successful acts have come from there (Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, One Direction, Cher Lloyd to name a few).

There is not a person on this planet that loves Adele more than I do but Candice did that song so much justice and better than Adele.

Well that explains it.

What can I say? Once that melisma kicks in, I'm out the door. She took an excruciatingly slow rendition of a so-so song and elongated it!

Whenever I'm alo-oh-oh-oh-one with you
yo-we-owie-oo yo-we-owie-oo well yo-we-owie-oo
you make me feel like... you make me feel like
I'm a homa-homa-homa-home again...

Heaven help us.

But she does have a cute voice.

Then when Glee did a Mariah and Nicki battle, it gave me hope that this is something that is coming.

That battle was more entertaining than 90% of the Idol performances this season...or last season.

And obviously, Darren Criss.

Candice and Kree. I've been calling this since before the final 10. Not sure which I like better. But both are sure to get record deals.

Yes Kree & Candice deserve to be the F2. But we all know it's going to be Kree & Angie because the latter has benefited from some Cassadee Pope type pimpage despite delivering technically proficient performances that never feel true emotionally.

Expect Candice's "shocking" elimination at F3 a la Melinda Dolittle.

I wish I could say what I really think about Randy's critiques. But I'll refrain, lest I get called a "racist".

It's your dime, spill it. We're all adults here. But, really, what more can be said? Everyone knows he's a gigantic ninny.

Now Jimmy... What did he say? "Candice needs a bigger song"? I thought 'Straight Up' was so much livelier than last week. But what the hell was she wearing? Anyway, it worked for me.

But ultimately Janelle stole show with 'Dumb Blonde.'

Show over!

Wow. Anyone else following the awesome/hilarious feud between Angie and Lazaro? If not, check out this and this. Slipintothefog, you should be all over this!

Not that I blame Angie for resenting Lazaro but 1) she always did seem like a psycho bitch to me and 2) I just hope this ruins her Chosen One image so she'll be Danny Gokeyed at F3 and we can have a truly deserving finale with Candice and Kree.

Come on Lazaro! Keep calling the bitch out!

Yeah, I saw it on VFTW and I was going to mention here but I figured nobody cared. lol. Angie is such a donkey-faced cunt though and I want her to go down in flames in the most embarrassing way possible (which can't happen now that Lazaro is gone :( -- how delicious it would have been if he bumped her out). And it's pretty sad that I have stronger feelings regarding her than the rest of this season's cast put together.

Angie is such a donkey-faced cunt

I know you're bored with this season but God I've missed you 'round these here parts!

("God" capitalized in honor of the donkey-faced cunt and her evangelicalism)

(country phrasing in honor of the girl they tried to sacrifice tonight)

I know you're bored with this season

If you could GIF my reaction to this season, it'd be Nicki Minaj checking her watches all over again. Actually I stopped watching for a few weeks there in the midst of the peen slaughter but Lazaro's hilarious Carpenters cover (and Nicki -- duh) renewed my interest for a week.

but God I've missed you 'round these here parts!

(*8*) Angie notwithstanding, I don't HATE any of the rest of these girls but I wish Haley Reinhart were on this season. She'd show them how it's done in terms of singing while having a personality. Naima too. It annoys me that the last time Idol had chicks I liked, they got swallowed up in the hick appeal void of Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog.

Let's hate on Angie together then for the rest of the season (like we did with Miss Piggy). I would feel like a winner if she were booted at F3 cuz you know she wants to win SO bad.

Also, in the real life feud between Angie and Lazaro, I'm totally on Team Lazaro.

It's your dime, spill it. We're all adults here. But, really, what more can be said? Everyone knows he's a gigantic ninny.
I don't know when you guys first became viewers of the show, but I've been a viewer since season 2. In a nutshell, I came to realize that Randy always speaks more favorably about the black contestants and usually over-compliments the blacks even when their performances are just ok at best.

You know, you literally could have said ANYTHING ELSE about Randy, however hyperbolic, and it would've been 100% true. He's a moron, he's tiresome to listen to/watch, and he lacks self-awareness. He's always been the absolute worst/charmless thing about the show and he should've been replaced after season one.

But he's not a "reverse-racist" or whatever it is you're trying to imply there. He's given plenty of negative critiques to black contestants (even when Syesha was GOOD he failed to hear it, remember that?) and plenty of over-praise to lousy white ones (Danny Gokey/Lee Dewyze/Casey Abrams).
