Well (as much as I do not like her) Melinda is better off now. She can hold her own fate in her hands and she is not tied to AI or whoever. However, I am so glad because I could not stand her any longer. It annoyed me how she acted so innocent after anyone would give her a compliment. I wish she would be more confident and accept her talent and stop acting so modest and innocent. Plus Blake and Jordan and more marketable. I thought Adam Levine looked very hot and I have a huge crush on Seacrest. For some reason I find him very sexy and I bet he has a huge dick.

Not surprised that Melinda went home. She's simply not as marketable as Blake or Jordin. She's dowdy and bland and ultimately plain. She has a fantastic voice, but this isn't a radio show; people are going to vote for the person who's the best overall entertainer.

The fact is, in my opinion, Melinda is the best singer they ever had. She never had a bad week. She may have had some rough ones, but I can't call any performances she did bad.

Blake is getting by because he is good looking to the little girls who can dial all night long, and will. They don't care who sounds good, just who LOOKS good. His beat box thing is annoying to me, and I didn't like where he added it in the Maroon 5 song last night. He also knows it should have been him leaving. He is a gentleman at least. I believe he got on one knee and handed her his flowers.

Jordin is good. She is very good, but Melinda is far better. Jordin has had some bad nights. However, now that Melinda is gone it should be her to win, only because she outsings Blake. He is too busy focusing on his beat boxing.

Melinda will be missed and I don't quite care who wins this year now. Melinda is the real winner, and everyone except votefortheworst knows it. They just want to ruin this show as much as they can, so they fight good singers like Melinda and push singers like...well, do I need to say his name? I don't want to...*shudder*

Beats me. I was kind of referring to Blake when I said that. I guess Jordin just has a fresher image that's more appealing to the younger viewers of the show.

She's sort of pageant-y and princess-y.

At this point it doesn't matter WHO wins, we all know that....

Yes, of *course* Blake is in the final two because he's a cutie to the
female 'tween-ager' set (girls aged 10 to 13 or so...who account for the highest number of voters...) It could just have easily been Chris...But the 'worked for Hooters' thing turned off a large number of that fan base, I'm guessing....

That same group of voters are attracted to Jordin...except in an emotional way... She's 17 and singing a song as deep as "I Who Have Nothing" which I'm sure has many a young girl crying into their pillows....dealing with a lot of adult emotions for the first time.....

Sadly, the two best talents canceled each other out as I feared they would...But, it matters not...If they play their cards right they both have profitable careers ahead of them....

All I can say is.....

Come December, look for for a CD entitled "A Sanjaya Christmas". :eek:

Mark my words.

WOW.. did I hit a nerve with some people on the race issue. Well that wasn't my intent. I was just pointing out the obvious... maybe "mainstream" appeal would have been the more appropriate term to use in this case. I forgot that the teenage girls are the ones mostly voting on this so called talent show. But never dismiss race on anything though, but this definitely(hopefully) wasn't the issue on this vote.

Hopefully that cleared things up!

It's because you always try to label everything as racism. I can't even count the number of threads where you try to make it about race... 90% of the time it's unfounded and just annoying. There is real racism in this world and by frivolously throwing around implications of racism you take credibility from it.

I did not..I simply watch the show for pure entertainment value. I am glad it turned out this way, but it really did not matter. I do not plan on buying the winner's cd. (except for K.Clarkson I am a closet fan)

The most competittive race is on now,as I don't believe either Jordin or Blake will be considered a real favorite..it will be razor thin if both are good next week.Melinda was more deservoing than Blake in my opinion...but the criticism of some of Blake's vocal abilities realkly is off the mark.He was better than Chris,and deservedly has gone further.....how many singers really are that incredible,and he is pretty damn good if not overly rangy...his performances last night were in order to me good,very good,and great.I wasn't thrilled with him last week,but he did well for himself and is a really fun performer to watch.

Nonetheless,Melinda was tremendous,truly outstanding her last two performances especially....I would have voted her in with Jordin,but next week will be a great contest I think.Some of the song choices last night were questionable....i had no idea Whitney even sang the song He gave Melinda,and she did great with it,but that might have been the part of the night that hurt her votes wise because it was such a syrupy,mediocre song.Blake being given the Police's great "Roxanne"...how could he really do too much with the song and not tried to stay true to it...might not have been as good as Sting,but it was good nonetheless...it didn't stand out as him making the song his,though.Finally,the producers giving Blake the horrid "This Love"by We Should be Marooned stinkers Maroon 5...on this one,Blake did take it and did good things with it,he made it fun at least.

One last thing....I do think performers should not be doing the same song over and over again.Jordin did it with her outstanding but alreadyy batted out of the park "I Who Have Nothing",and Melinda did it with 'I'm a Woman"...during those clips from the group's individual homecomings,they were seen singing the same songs...even Blake sung something he had done before....they talk about originality,but never let the contestants really show they have it.Also the song the contestant dropped every week sings at the end is the same damn song that got them booted in the first place....let them pick a song that if they are dropped they can leave that means something to them!They after all each have prerecorded comments set to clips about their journey on the show should they be voted off...in the future let them choose what they will sing if voted off.

I've watched every single episode of American Idol this season. There were only four people with any ounce of talent among them -- Lakisha, Melinda, Blake, and Jordin. Lakisha was the weakest link among them, and, sadly, she went last week. And I really like all of the top three...they all seem really cool and unique and truly talented.

And while it would've been sad to see either Blake or Jordin go . . . COME ON!

Melinda is clearly, obviously the most talented among them. I'm not surprised that she went. It was a three-way race, and, as my mom (who didn't really care a whit who won. or what show she was watching....) kept cackling at me throughout, "she's too old! people want young and hip!" I guess she was right after all. But god am I pissed. :mad: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

Well,Melinda came into the competition a background singer,and even leaving tonight,those days are over for her....she'll be very successful by herself,she just needs to get her own niche and do what makes her happiest,and by not outright winning she'll have a lot more flexibility early on to go in the direction she is best suited for.The one reason if Blake or Jordin wins,well if Kelly Clarkson has to clash with her producers even now to get something she is comfortable with out,whoever wins will have to be very patient and disciplined,cause they are very likely to get crap to release at first.

i dont get how melinda can have EVERY night be an amazing, flawless performance (at least in my opinion) but when it comes to jordin and blake, its hit or miss...that not the nature of a truly talented singer like melinda is

i know for a fact jordin will win...they've been buffering her up with huge compliments...and since she's black and the last two winners were white

melinda truly has the best voice ever in any season, and one of best voices compared with all the other legends

I'm pissed too! Not that Blake & Jordin aren't talented but Melinda is really the best of the lot. Ur mom's right about her being too old tho.

I've watched every episode of AI for 6 years and this was the saddest elimination for me ever. I tried to convice myself it wouldn't happen, but we all know that it's ditsy teen girls who control the voting. Melinda wasn't just the best singer, she was also the nicest and most humble of all the contestants. (Jordin's sense of entitlement really bugs me.) Well, no finals show for me this years. It'll be a complete bore, but Jordin will win.
