Contestants may not be under a recording contract so merely as a studio back-up singer doing piece work Melinda is qualified to compete.

Rarely does the best competitor win any reality show - look at the recent Survivor and Amazing Race series as well.

I don't give a flying fuck about what happens on American Idol. I hate it because it pre-empts Stargate SG-1 over here and I haven't had my Jack O'Neil fix in 10 weeks.

it happened last season too, i expected kathrine to win but it turned out to be dat other guy (no offence, i just forgot his name). but i'm still a loyal AI fan.

Ppl kept quoting that teenagers are the voters. The same teenagers who voted for the older Taylor Hicks?

Anyway, I dun get it with Jordin. Her market is where Spears, Aguilera, Beyonce and Shakira have already eaten up a portion of the market pie (share). So, why would people buy her records instead of those earlier 'divas'? Because she could sing rock songs badly and laughed about it?

I am not watching AI next week. It's a screw up show.

Btw, with the judges kept praising Melinda yesterday, that could possibly sent the Blake and Jordin's fans to be panic enough to vote even more for their idols, and hence, the plan of Simon backfired. Anyway, thank goodness Melinda won't be getting contracts where the manager greedily eats up 50% of he earnings. Let her shine without the AI pressure.

I will every one just SHUT UP and GET OVER IT. The best singer does NOT win American Idol. We've been shown it year after year. So stop with the shock and awe and the how can this happen and the whining crap. Not enough people voted. She lost. The end. Shut up.

AI is a popularity thing people dont vote on talent (thats what happens when you leave it up to America)..... If it were a talent show Melinda would win hands (Blake for example: get votes from those who thinks he's hot/cute/sexy etc. but dont think they are voting based on talent) Jordin on the other hand she can sing but to me theres just nothing special about her singing talent...... but I want be watch finals nothing special to watch Melinda is gone..... Like Simon said she's one of the best to grace the stage and you all will see that when the final airs

melinda is too boring, she just has a good voice, most singer do. she's not idolish, most AI aren't idolish. So far blake and jordan have potential, cas they are hot. come on idols have to be hot, lame idols won't sell even if they win (ruben and taylor hicks)
