Your opinion is not fact.. I suspected him to be a racist when he first arrived on the scene. I just got that vibe from him.

He is racist.. simply put. You can try to spin it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that the guy has some deep rooted racism inside of him.

Now I understand that its hard for you to believe he is a racist. But that's the way things are... Your attraction to him makes you think otherwise. I'm sure if someone else had said the same thing... you would have agreed with many of us who KNOW he is racist.

Holy Lord the guys suck this year. That was one of the most painful semifinal shows I can remember. The only good ones were Blake, both Chrises and A.J. Bring on the girls...

I think Chris Sligh, The beatboxer, and whoever performed last were the best (sorry, i don't know their names yet) Chris, along with being really talented, is just really funny. He had me rolling on the floor during his little video before his performance. Although, I'm worried people will confuse his humor for arrogance and a bad attitude. The Beatboxer really wowed me because of the fact that I wasn't sure he could sing, but he seriously could and I liked his song he chose. Now the last guy, he was interesting. He started off absolutely horrible. I seriously thought he was gonna croak, but when he finally hit the chorus, it was incredible. This guy can't start a song to save his life, but ended up having the best performance of the night in my opinion. Still, I haven't found somebody that has really wowed me like Katharine McPhee or Chris Daughtry. From the first second I heard them sing, I knew they would make it far and rooted for them. But I haven't really been impressed this season at all. Hopefully that will change tomorrow with the girls. I generally like female voices anyways so hopefully I'll find somebody to root for.

Oh yeah, one more guy did pretty good. I think he was from Venezuela (could be confusing him), but he had a white shirt on and sang a soul type of song. Wow, i need to learn their names, this is probably the most confusing post ever.

I was not that impressed last night. I never really am by the guys, actually, which is why I think they shouldn't have the 6 guys and 6 girls because that is potentially screwing over a talented girl for a so so talented guy.

The only ones that entertained me were Blake and Phil after the beginning of his song. Let's hope the ladies will bring something better.

Yeah, I think the whole idea of doing guys and girls is bogus. What if the 24 best singers for a season happen to be girls? Is it fair that some people get cut just because they need to fill slots for male singers? This is just afirmative action, and I think that is stupid. As with job hiring, go with the person that is best for the position, don't just fill quotas.

Because I think that the girls would dominate everytime. It is nice to see just the guys sing. Should be interesting to see how the girls do tonight.

Why is the studio audience so small? it seems odd.

The chaka ericka girl (the one Paula said was "out of this world but wrong song lol ) is trying to use her voice to win AI, her personality didnt come out all i saw was a voice, i didnt see her.

yeah, I can understand why they have the system as it is now. But seriously, all but two of the guys sucked last night. It was painful to watch. I know Simon can be harsh sometimes, but he was right last night.

Melinda was great...as was Lakisha (though I was a little scared of what she might do if I didn't LOVE her...LOL!). I love some male eye candy, but this season doesn't seem to be offering any. Would they audition 12 different guys if these 12 backed out?

Well, some girls definitely just dominated the entire season. They seriously blew the guys out of the water and dried them off. Jordin Sparks did excellent, but the song didn't really give her a chance to show that she can really blow until the end. Sabrina Sloan and Stephanie Edwards were fantastic and did really fun, up-beat songs that not only were seriously entertaining but proved that they had great voices. Melinda Doolittle is probably my favorite so far. She has a fantastic voice, but is still so humble and has this insecure but cute thing going on that I think will cause people to love her. And last, but certainly not least we have Lakisha Jones. DAMN is all I can say. She hit it way out of the park. She made me forget all about Mandisa, Jeniffer Hudson (I still love you), and all those powerhouse singers during that performance. I generally don't like those church mama, powerhouse voices, but she totally won me over with that performance. This is definitely a girls year and I wouldn't be surprised if it is an all girl final 3, 4, or 5. Well done, ladies.

Having praised the ones that deserved it, there were some girls that were cringe-worthy or could put you to sleep. And since there were so great girls, it was easy to spot the bad ones in this lot.

Pretty much, after watching tonight's show, this season's winner will be an African American female. All of them did good tonight and got praise from the judges.

Now, let's talk about the judges of American Idol.

Well actually, this thread should be "Let's talk about Simon", because most of my words bellow refer to him.

Since I cannot watch Fox in China, all the stuff about American Idol I know comes from magazines, the clips I downloaded, and some infos of this site.

So I got to know Simon, because he's the most talked-about American Idol judge in this forum, as he's famous for his good look, and most important, his outrageous putdown words.

Yesterday, I tried to download some clips of Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Hicks, for they's my favourites, but I happened to find two special clips: "The Top 5 Worst Auditions" and "The Worst Singer in the World---A Guy Named Keith who sang 'Like a Virgin'".

Maybe because I didn't see the whole American Idol show, but in those two clips, what the judges said was nothing being outrageous, and I think their language is so mild compared with that of the judges of our most famous Chinese reality show "Super Girls(' Vocal)".

To my surprise, all of them don't know how awful they are even after Simon told them the truth. (I think Simon just doesn't want to give them false hopes, because singing is a talent thing, not a practice thing, if you are not good at it, don't waste your life on it.)

Maybe because we have different cultures, so we have different ways for self-judgement. One of my roomate in college is very bad at singing, he will even sing the song that he's best at off key. So it's very hard to make him sing for us when we're at karaoke, and he'll never think he's a good singer.

So, you will never be able to see an audition like that in our "Super Girls". And those "idols" took part in our show, well, they'll probably commit suicide after that, for our judges are really jerks, sometimes.

I admire the girl who sang the Dreamgirls song. When I was watching the guys episode, I was worried that I would not like any - until Blake sang that song. I was hooked on him. But unlike last season, I don't really have any fav. Maybe Blake and two African American girls.

Sunjaya was just awful! I've never heard anyone butcher a Stevie Wonder song like that. He should be shot and put out of his misery.
