American Idol (Season 9) [merged]

Adam Lambert...the ONLY reason I will turn on the show is if I can see how Adam Lambert "mentors" Tim Urban. I am truly curious to see what would come of that.

Potential disaster? Most likely.

Potentially entertaining? Definintely.

And what exactly is he going to say to Siobhan? "Keep screeching girl!"

This is all apart of Simon's master plan. To have American Idol be sooo incredibly terrible, that people jump over to the new X Factor. That's the only explanation I can think of that will explain this awful season.

I didn't need to be convinced. I was going to watch anyway Simon. But I'll def be watching now. I know there has to be better singers.

The X Factor is going to be great, I'm in the middle of watching season 4 UK and I can honestly say that the show is much better than AI. If they keep the same format, it will for sure be more successful.

So Big Mike finally gets the boot and the judges save his obnoxious ass? Is he really that good? I don't see one damn thing that's special about him, unless you consider knocking up your wife and then leaving her alone to deliver the baby so you can selfishly pursue your dream "special."

This season is shit.

Now we're stuck with his overrated fat ass until at least the Final 3. And since next week's episode is only an hour and a half long but they still have 9 performers, the show will probably run over and GLEE will be late. That's the biggest shame of all.

lol....Well Big Mike is one of the better contestants on this season if you ask me. He isn't all that, but I'd take him over some of the others..

^^ He's so obnoxious. Even Simon rolled his eyes at BM's itunes comment.

Tim survives another week :rotflmao:

LOL! Looks like you despise Mike as much as I dislike Tim.

Even though you don't like him...you have to admit, he can outsing several of the other contestants at this point.

The biggest SHAME of all is that Tim's ass is STILL there.

This is when error in allowing the public to vote starts to come to the forefront. Tim is this season's Sanjaya to the max.

All the Mike hating...ridiculous.So what if he's cocky? He can sing, and deserves to stay at least another week.Three weak links remain for sure in Tim,Aaron and Andrew to get voted off before I would even think of sending Mike home. With two going home next week now that they used the one and only save,we can get Tim and Andrew out at least. As of now Crystal,Siobhan,Lee and Casey make the strongest eventual Top 4....Katie is getting better and Mike has the heart, pipes and talent to get in there though.

ugh...Big Black Gokey is still here....he was so freakin' cocky and "all y'all love me" (even though I got voted out)....uggggh

wonder what the "special theme" for next week is.....all Adam Lambert songs...lol

I'm sorry you think I'm ridiculous.

I wasn't aware that I'm not allowed to have an opinion in this thread.
I think the opinion stated not only by you,btw but others anti-Mike is ridiculous.NOT you as a person. We're supposed to nod approvingly always to whatever is posted?Go to Soapnet if you want drama and don't create one here that doesn't exist.

Fair enough, but I don't react well to having my opinions called "ridiculous." I find that very rude.

You don't have to nod approvingly or agree with everything I say, but there's a difference between disagreeing respectfully and saying that people's opinions are "ridiculous." If I were truly being ridiculous, I suppose you would have a right to say that, but I don't think I was being ridiculous at all. I just don't like the guy.

He was talking about the crowd and judge reaction in support of him.Unlike Gokey Mike has the talent to back up whatever he tries...I'd never expect Mike to embarass himself with a wretching shriek like Gokey did at the end of that "Dream On" debacle last season.

My beef with the haters isn't that Mike should flat out win...he's gotta keep bringing it.But cockiness didn't keep Adam Lambert from finishing second last year despite a similar distaste by some here for his antics. It's the bitchiness of the criticism that I don't agree with.It isn't objective based on ability and professionalism but subjective loathing of a characteristic(blown out of proportion in Mike's case)

I try to find something worth rooting for in a contestant with the ability to get far....I never look to tear anyone down or make fun of them (Sanjaya was a big exception in my case, and I also didn't think much of a Jason Castro coasting rather than competing yet lasting as long as he did). With all the crassness Idol shoves on the nation each week(horrible Ford group videos, cringe inducingly amateurish group performances, highlighting for the most part truly mediocre performers likeMiley Cyrus, Rihanna and Jason Derulo each week who would be hard pressed to make the Top 12 if they had to audition)trying to connect and root for those with the talent is the only reason I watch Idol.

Til next week,gentlemen.

This competition has never been just about the contestants vocal abilities.

As for bitchiness, I say it's best to direct it at the people on the show and not other posters. But maybe I'm in the minority on that. It's not very difficult to respectfully disagree.

As soon as he started singing that song that made Kara cry that one show before, I had a strong feeling he would be saved. If he had sung the same song from last night, I'm quite sure he'd get the boot. The other 3 guys(except for lee) should go before Mike imo:

My top 5 prediction right now:

Katie
Lee
Siohban
Crystal
Mike

:)

I can see both sides of this. I was totally with my boys Salemite and blacksyringe on Michael Gokey for most of the season, and I still don't really love him (his personality grates on me) but I have to admit he didn't deserve the boot this week. He wasn't terrible last night (the second half of his performance was better than the first) and he was excellent the week before. So in that respect I can see where Sausy and huntneo are coming from.

What I wanna know is, who the hell keeps voting for Andrew Garcia?? He's been cumulatively the WORST all season. Yeah he was OK during R&B week but he was HORRID every other week, including last night. If anyone deserved to go -- even moreso than Tim, Katie and Aaron -- it's Andrew! And Simon called it weeks ago: Andrew has a boring personality.

That said, I don't like the Judge's Save; never have, never will. Even if someone I love gets eliminated, I don't think it's what this show is "about" to reverse that decision. I wish they'd just retire the lame gimmick.
