American Idol (Season 9) [merged]

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

he had the Vote for the Worst vote....and come on look at this body...who cares if he can't sing..lol

LOL, well said man! For me, he's the most hubba-hubba contestant. And the poor dude looked like he was almost about to cry when the judges rendered their verdict, I just wanted to give him a hug.

I want to know where it came from....I can't find the source. I hope that pic leaks like mad.
It's definitely spreading all over the place - just Google "tim urban shirtless". And that's fucking fantastic. The more people that see those delicious abs and pecs that are otherwise hidden under his clothes, the better. Maybe they'll keep him around a little while via the votes. ..|

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

No one eliminated last night was gonna make it to the Top 12, whether they went this week or in the next two weeks, it really doesn't matter. But I can see that it's sad if someone you like went too soon.

The girls elimination, if based solely on performance and factoring in the evils of VFTW got it about right. As for the boys, only Casey, Lee and Alex gave good performances and any of the other seven better step up.

Shame they're stuck on six boys and six girls, instead of three mixed groups with the actual 24 best performers instead of this group that got put through.

What exactly does Kara contribute to the show and her cougar crush needs to end and fast.

Are the judges really not having a wild card show this year?

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

They should have sent the remaining 20 home, as well, and then started over.

Urban has VFTW support, so he'll survive a bit longer.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

I don't suppose this will be the end of Tim Urban if he whores out his looks.

He really should just do his next performance shirtless. Why not? After Kara's embarrassing performance in the auditions with Casey, would it really be inappropriate? Hell if anything he could blow the overrated physical appeal of Casey and his non-chest out of the water.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Joe Munoz was robbed.

I wouldn't say "robbed" because he was boring this week and not that great of a singer in general, but you're right that there were SO many worse performances/contestants. Alex Lambert needed to GO last night, and I still fail to see the appeal of Big Mike.

Not for nothing, but I think it's kind of awkward that the two Latino contestants (Ashley Rodriguez on the distaff side) left in the same first night elimination.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

The guy is so easily marketable, if he makes it to the top twelve I would not be surprised if we hear from him again in the future.

Yeah. Who knows what he might want to pursue after "Idol", but he's got a good wholesome-but-hot look and some decent charisma and apparent easygoing charm that he for sure could do something in the public eye if he wanted. He's rockin' that vibe that makes the wide range of teen/tween girls through to grandmothers (not to mention, us!) both like him.

And Sgt Pepper, I for sure thought Alex Lambert would go! I was cringing fairly often through that performance.

Hey Sgt - no real one central place, they're just surfacing online in different ways. Some in my post were a heads-up from a fellow JUB member. There are different pages starting to crop up like this one for instance. Keep tuned to the blogosphere, Twitter and Google for whatever else should emerge!

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Tim Urban did much better than last week. I think he really can sing. Aaron Kelly did a great job too! Lee also improved a lot.

I would say they're my top 3 favorites right now. None of the girls (except for the one who plays the harmonica. I forgot her name) really interests me.

I haven't been watching but I was flipping last week and saw him sing and was flipping again this week and saw him. He wasn't bad this week. He is a beautiful looking guy. Wether he can sing or not he is gonna get pushed through. He really is stunning. I would probably watch Idol if it wasn't like two hours every week. I can't commit to that. I am not a TV guy and hate sitting that long. Maybe when they drop down to an hour I will give it a chance. I have yet to hear any of the girls sing.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

I have to agree with bluedragon. Tim Urban is BEAUTIFUL and so -- for the next few weeks anyway -- whether he can sing or not is irrelevant. Do I care? Not really. It's not like his hot self is taking the spot away from someone exceptionally talented; none of the guys are impressive this season. Even Andy Garcia is starting to bore me.

Also, Aaraon Kelly is out-Archuleting David Archuleta. He's cornball and he looks like 12.

Oh and Casey was terrible this week.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

John, Toddrick and Jermaine need to go...they are horrible

I like Casey...but for some reason his voice is always shaky.

Aaron is cute and can sing...but I'm not really digging him at all...too cutesy for my liking

Lee....I liked the performance even though "Lips of an Angel" is one of my all time least favorite songs

Alex....LOVED....I liked his vocals last week(even though his performance wasn't good), but man this week was fantastic I love his voice.

Mike was better this week....he needs to ditch the guy with guitar thing he's been doing and stick with what he did tonight.

Tim was way better this week....still not the best singer....but at least he stuck with what he knew he could do....and he was definitely one of the best of the night.

Adam was....blah tonight...I've seen James Morrison perform that many a times and though Adam's vocals were good, there was just NO emotion or anything in it it was so boring

all in all...much better then last week

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Well it was a lot better than last week thats for sure. Here are a few of my comments:

Casey James - Not a great performance. I agree with the judges, he just doesn't have the grit to sing those types of songs. And I also really hated his hair, it was way too styled for me. I think that he looks best when he has his hair partially pulled up in the back, and then semi-loose in the front. Also, he really need to get serious about singing. Everytime he sings or performs, he just has this wide ass smile on his face.

Alex Lambert - I thought this is was pretty good. Looked a lot better than last week.

Jermaine Sellers - I really don't like this guy. He is a diva! Also when you are singing Marvin Gaye - What's going on? It is a serious song, perhaps you can treat as such. Rather than giving the cheesy smile and bouncing up and down all over the stage.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Michael Lynche and Lee Dewyze were the best singers in last nights show. Aaron Kelly and Alex Lambert show some potential. The others are forgettable. In my humble opinion of course.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Did anyone have any issues with the voting tonight? I voted for one guy and was sent a return text telling me that i voted for one of the girls.

I think they mixed something up because this was originally supposed to be a girls night.

As for the performances--I think Lee and Big Mike (dare I admit it?) led the competition. The rest were bland as usual. Tim did improve--and that's not saying much, given that horrendous performance last week.

They already had the girls lined up, and it was too late to change it.

As long as you used the right number, the vote went to the right guy.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Did anyone with talent even audition this year? I thought the audition telecasts were boring because of the way someone decided to edit the scenes. Now I wonder if the judges traveled around and could find nobody worthwhile.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Did you boys see Ken Levine's Huffington Post commentary this morning on last night's show? It's blunt but really cracked me up. I'm still so underwhelmed by this year's crop of talent (both guys and girls), but I'm sticking with the show for the long haul to see how they develop.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

I fail to comprehend why Tim being 'hot' (and although he's attractive he's not THAT hot). There are hot people on almost every show on every channel and this little magic box called a computer where you can see tons of hot guys on. DO you really need some crappy teen singer around because he has a nice chest?

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Yes. There's really no talent on this show. Everyone is mediocre. Usually I would agree with the whole 'talent' before 'marketable', but hey...this show has been about sob stories for a few years now. If the personal stories were chopped down this show could coolly slide into the forty-five minute frame, an hour with commercials.

He has a pretty kick-ass body for a twenty year old (I sure as Hell don't have friends that look like THAT - but close - at 19)...and who knows when those pictures were taken? He might not even be twenty. He does look thinner on television in contrast to those photos...hmm...and who does he have to contend with in the looks-department? Casey looks like a twelfth-generation-West-Virginian-genetic-deformity and my heterosexual side is telling me Didi Benami is the only good-looking woman on the show.

You realize you don't HAVE to watch right? I mean if you really think everyone is so boring and uninteresting and lacking in talent then just watch something else. I've been waiting for years for Idol to be knocked off it's undeserved ratings pedestal as it would create a ton of free airtime for actual productions.

But honestly if you're only watching because there's a mediocre talent with one kinda hot fully clothed boy then just flip over to CW, that entire channel is devoted to boy oggling.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

I'm with blacksyringe on this one. I don't think Tim should make it to Top 5 or anything, but I wouldn't mind it at all if he outpaced half the cast of forgettable under-performers this season.

That said, I think the girls proved tonight that they are generally far more talented than the guys. Crystal, Lily and Siobhan were excellent in a way that NONE of the guys were last night, Didi of course is generally more talented than all the guys, and Michelle and Katelyn were surprisingly good as well.

That Dweezy was "pretty good" and Tim Urban was "not terrible" -- and those two constituted the best of the guys' night -- says it all.

Re: American Idol (Season 9)

Bowersox and Siobhan were the best tonight

Haeley and Lacey were the worst

Didi was way better then the judges gave her credit for...they were making it out to be the worst thing they ever heard...it was definitely no where near as bad as they were saying

Michelle....it was interesting....and good for her for having an interesting song choice and such...but it wasn't all that great...but definitely not the worst

Katie....she has a good voice....but man is she boring...I can never remember her

Katelyn...for someone who I thought shouldn't have made the top 24...she has impressed me...I thought she was great tonight(sure it was a bit slower then it should have been...but it was still really nice)

Lilly....I don't get her...I feel like normally she's someone I would like...but....I haven't enjoyed either of her performances

Paige was alright...middle of the road...not bad...not great
