American Idol (Season 9) [merged]

I agree that this is probably one of the worst if not the worst season for talent, but I have to say that I do think Crystal is great. I like her. She's very different compared to 95% of the people who sing on this show. She has talent and makes singing seem effortless, and I'm glad to see a more folksy person. She hasn't had a bad week and I think even if this was a season with a more talented group of people she would still stand out.

Personally, I think that Lee is being set up to win even moreso. And I'm saying this as a person who doesn't like him. There was one week where I thought he was horrid and Simon said that he was terrific, which really says something since Simon actually reflects what most people are thinking but are too afraid to admit since he's the guy you love to hate.

I think this should be the last season of Idol. The pickings are pretty slim and two of the three original judges will be gone. It's had a good run.

Vote for the Worst is really "Vote for the Most Entertaining." Siobhan and Tim are far more entertaining than the boring Casey, Mike and Lee and more entertaining AND talented than Aaron, Andrew and Katie.

I still don't even see what was so entertaining about Tim. It's not like he was original, or had a big personality, or had a different look. He was boring as all hell and was only there because 12 year old girls thought he was cute.

I guess...although I thought he was just a mophead who couldn't sing

If he's your cup of tea, just go visit a college campus. There's plenty of his kind running around there.

That's the thing though. There have been too many people like Tim already marketed. You'd think people would get tired of the same old guys when they can just turn on High School Musical. That's why I don't think he had a smidge of appeal in any way shape or form.

^^ Right, but Tim doesn't have to be objectively entertaining. He just has to be more entertaining than some of the other contestants, and with total bores like Aaron, Katie, Casey, Mike and Andrew there this season, that isn't too difficult.

^^ I'm glad the suckiness of this season always leaves room for common ground. ;)

Thought that last night was pretty good compared to past performances. I liked Lee, Crystal, and Casey. Siobhan is just a hot mess, I still can't get past her low vocal tone, she just sounds somewhat like a man or something.

I agree. I liked Lee, Casey and Crystal too. Thought the Crystal song was a nice little ditty that the judges didn't get because they are always looking for the "BIG" performance.

I thought Aaron had pitch problems from beginning to near end, and Mucho Mike was like Mucho Mike any other night.

Yes, Siobhan was a train wreck vocally. She hits some weird highs and gutter lows.

I think this is a Casey, Crystal, Lee final three if there is any American justice.

Thank goodness they finally had a mostly good night.

The young 17yo kid was the best this week. I don't have any favorites this year - most still can't carry a tune.

I guess this was a little better, but I don't see the hype of Aaron last night. I was bored and find his singing that song to his mother a little strange, even with the line removed.

Still an overall bore. A night that I won't care who goes home unless it is Crystal in which case I'll probably wet myself from laughing so hard.

Wow. Just...wow. I thought Siobhan was god awful last night to be honest, but lord if I wasn't rooting for her to outlast pretty much everyone except Crystal. Now we're just left with the Boring (Lee/Aaron/Casey), the Bad Personality (Mike) and the Bowersox.

This lame season just keeps getting lamer.

Sinatra week...even more easy songs to sing...

No surprise with Siobhan getting the boot.

5. Casey
4. Michael
3. Aaron
2. Lee
1. Crystal

Yes/no?

Pretty much what I'm expecting, though with these 5 anything is possible. Losing Siobhan took away any possible entertainment. These are all boring and predictable. I still can't get over the look, typical as it is of him, that Michael had while in the bottom three.

You mean the typical look of arrogance????

And I also think Aaron should go to top 3!!

I loved the look on Big Mike's face when Ryan told him he was in the Bottom 3.

Normally, he acts like a Hungry Hungry Hippo for attention -- mugging for the camera, picking people up, sticking his head into other people's pictures/shots, making stupid faces and silly hand gestures. That all disappeared last night when Ryan told him he was in the Bottom 3. Just like a few weeks ago when he was eliminated (and subsequently saved), he started scowling and posturing, puffing his chest out and puckering his lips like he was ready to take someone's head off. The only thing missing was that cocky "I'M THE MAN" strut that he showed off when the judges used the save on him.

LMAO! That's the perfect description of him. God that man has become so obnoxious. I'm sorry he didn't go last night instead of Siobhan.

Well, Michael is now the VFTW pick. Despite the site's visitors voting quite highly for Aaron over Mike, they didn't listen for the second week in a row and picked him. Will be interesting to see if the touch of death can affect Mike like it did Siobhan.

Not like it matters anymore, this season is beyond saving.
