anyone been keeping up with Alex Lambert in the "If I Can Dream" house.....I still wish that he had made the TOP 12...but I think being in this house has really helped him progress....I love his voice....

same thing happened last year when adam lambert lost to whats-his-face.. i've become less concerned with who 'wins' the finale, and have just come to appreciate the talent that's on the show.. the deciding factor of the REAL talent is album sales, as was once again proven over this last year with adam lambert selling roughly TWICE as many albums as last year's 'winner'.. same thing will happen with crystal - a week from now nobody will remember who lee dewyze is, and crystal will go on to prove to be the TRUE american idol, just like adam lambert and countless other idol 'losers' have..

you're acting like Kris Allen has been a huge flop....Adam's first 2 singles were huge flops....his third single is what got him going....Kris' first single has been just as big, if not bigger than "Whatya Want From Me"

Last year there was Ricky Braddy who certainly had the talent to get far into the Finals rejected as a Wild Card possibility,and who wouldn't have rather seen him battle to the top Four over the loathesome Danny Gokey?...this year Alex couldn't get through the semifinals,despite being compelling,interesting and fresh.Great to see Alex getting his feet in the business and working hard to make it,despite the Idol setback.He's definitely got a good deal of talent from looking at these clips....real mistake the viewers didn't give him more of a look.

Sausy: I liked Ricky when he was on the show...but then listened to some of his demos and such and didn't like it so much....he was doing like country-ish stuff...and I felt like it was a waste of his voice.

Sorry to hear his demos weren't as good....with that voice I'm hoping someone tries to steer him right.I know he's from Tennessee,maybe he really is into country but I agree that isn't where he should be going.I was really pissed Simon thought he didn't have the "personality"to advance into the competition despite barely being seen by the public and that so many others who made the cut weren't exactly what you would call charismatic.Kris Allen wasn't exactly Mr. Scintillating,and as much as I love Kris and his adorableness and dedication he couldn't begin to approach Ricky vocally.



Alex should have made it...the mullet,the voice.He probably was lacking in confidence as a performer,but hell so did Lee for much of the top 12.Hope his efforts now pay off,seems like a really good guy.

Kris is the worst in terms of album sales compared to previous Idol winners. He has had a hit song but it did not help album sales. Adam’s album has sold over twice as many as Kris’s. Plus, Kris' single is NOT bigger than Adam's. "Whatya Want From Me" is an international hit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataya_Want_from_Me#Charts
 
Alex Lambert getting eliminated so early was one of the biggest disappointments this season. I didn't like him at first but he really grew on me with "Everybody Knows." He has a very unique sound and his shy smile is adorable.

So what :rolleyes: Jordin Sparks's debut album only sold 119,000 first week and it took her over a year to reach platinum. Adam has a big fanbase outside the US and it has been confirmed that he will do international concert tour this fall. Having total sales of platinum plus worldwide is certainly within reach. RCA is experienced with having US acts that have success overseas, sometimes more than in the US so he's in good hands with that. I don't see Kris's album going gold but he will have some radio hits.
 
Im just glad this horrible season is over..

and if there's gonna be another season, can they please ban the use of instruments? people this season have been using it WAY too much as a crutch to hide behind (coughCaseycough)....go on America's Got Talent if you wanna play guitar and sing

The point was that Lambert wasn't even six months out of Idol when he was used by a major studio to do music for a blockbuster movie. That's a huge measure of success in and of itself.

Adam Lambert, if he plays his cards right, could become the next "King (Queen?) of Pop."
 
I loved how they brought back all the previous winners (besides Dave Cook :eek:) and most if not all runner-ups for the Simon Cowell tribute.

That and Paula Abdul looked fucking smoking tonight! Was it just me but did she seem less insane tonight then she has any other time she was on Idol? :help:
 
I knew it... Lee's gonna win... I hated the results... Lee is hot and he can sing and he is commercial, but Crystal should have won... she really deserves the win

In my opinion, Idol will have a hard time having a female winner for the next seasons... Idol's audience share I believe are made up mostly of Girls, Women, and of course us gay men, which means hot men will almost always win this thing... It's like the revenge of the young girls who cried when David Cook won...

Lambert is a joke...and he has sold less than a million albums in the States, mostly because he is insufferably annoying and has an ego the size of Montana. Maybe 'Squire of Pop'. But not king.

Jordin Sparks has sold more albums than him. And she's probably off working in a diner now.

American Idol has been a joke since the fifth season when Taylor Hicks won.

While I agree that this year's lineup was less than great, I still firmly believe that Lambert is going to be a bigger star than any other Idol alum, including Underwood.
 
I can't stand Lee:

His face is chunky and weird looking.

He has no personality.

He's a nervous, stuttering mess and can't talk his way through a sentence when he's on stage. While he's singing, he just has this "Deer in headlights" look on his face that will not fucking go away.

He can barely even sing.


Crystal had a more versatile voice, but I really didn't like her that much either. Fuck American Idol.
