America's Next Top Model Cycle 10 girls!!

I have to say, even for a "fake" Versace show, it's been the best, traditional runway in a long time (I think Cycle 5 and 1-2). The runways in Thailand and South Africa were OK, but why can't they be linear? No more gimmicks. This almost makes up for the stupid cave in cycle 7.

And I didn't really like the C3 Noriko Fukushima runway. You can't show off your walk if you're walking that slow.

that's true. i really disliked that fashion show in tokyo, but i think that was actually noriko's call.

if tyrant and co had planned the show, you know they would've given them chopsticks for shoes and a mound of rice to walk over.

and i'm sure tyrant would've wanted a runway that would've showcased eva's fierce walk a little better - just to solidify her win.

so i think the C3 show was the last REAL runway show put on by an actual designer.

starting C4, i think they just started to put these shows on SPECIFICALLY for ANTM, and then afterwards, they'd find a few good designers (who'd probably benefit from the publicity) to give them some clothes for the show.

hence the really weird runways and the really weird themes (C4 over water - although i liked that effect, C5 - with that shakespeare shit in the background, C6 - thai temples, C7 - in a cave, C8 - "evolution", etc)

C2 was pretty kickass since it was a big designer (DSquared) in Milan, huge fashion-capital - possibly during fashion week.

but you're right - this was the most credible runway show they've had in a while. but clearly, how they dressed the models reeked of sabotage: anya got the tight narrow dresses, whitney got the flowy, sexy dresses.

but honestly - the "versace" runway show on ANTM is nothing compared to a REAL versace show.

here's a real versace show for their men's ss08 collection (featuring my favorite male model):

the scope and magnitude of a real versace show is on a scale that antm could never replicate.

another versace show, same season, women's collection:

i love that runway with the changing graphics and the huge "VERSACE" on it at the beginning.

and one of the best parts about runway shows is often the choice of music. i mean, turandot/pavarotti to open the show? hell yeah.

versace is all about drama, drama, drama.

also: note just how many "full-figured" models make it down the catwalk. and then note how many size 0, skinny toothpicks make it down...

dam if u guys hate the show so much then stop freaking watching it then, if its so predictable and you knew whitney was gonna win then don't watch, i don't give its rigged, stop watching it they don't need your views cause their is plenty of other gay guys and straight girls to watch, you all should no reality shows aint really real thats what makes them entertainment......

well that clears it up fake or not top modelllllll is the most asomess "reality" show ever other than the mole, big brother, the amazing race, and sometimes survivor

I've never said I hated Top Model, in fact I think I said I was addicted to it. (which I'm totally am) And you are right that is what makes ANTM so fucking entertaining b/c it's rigged and fake and everybody can pretty much figure stuff out b4 it happens on ANTM.

But all regards and congratulations to Bitchney, Cycle 10's first (fake) full figured winner of Miss America's Next Top Model. I may not care for you all that much Bitchney but at least you have a more diverse and interesting portfolio than last cycle's winner Suckleisha. Major improvement, Tyra the Sadist!

Goodness me, I can't get enough of this show! When's the next all day MTV ANTM model marathon? I live for those.(!)

I get not liking someone, but calling her 'Bitchney' is rude and immature. You don't even know her, and what you did see what edited and displayed for entertainment value. Sure, you may think negatively of her, but I don't think you even know anyone on this show well enough to call them a bitch, especially if they won over your favorite, on something called a TV SHOW. It's not that serious to call someone that.

^ yeah dude. what's the deal with all this sudden backlash from people who are posting on this thread for the first time??

lay off, moe, guys. he's a frequent contributor to this thread and obviously a huge fan of the show.

so look - it's clear whitney has a pretty huge fan-base here on jub, but the reason we like to talk about it so much and bitch and moan is because we watch the show so much and find it to be entertaining.

and at some point, we actually held the show and its winners to a higher standard, and ever since the obvious rigging of the show, it's been more fun to analyze/bitch about parts of the show in all its glorious inconsistency.

and if any of you truly think that ANTM is a valid, credible way for models to get "discovered," then you can't be die-hard ANTM or fashion-world fans.

our opinions on the shoots and the models and tyrant are all part of the fun and just goes to show how much we watch this show and have watched this show over the course of its entire run.

hate or no hate, it's all done out of love for the show.
personally, i love to hate the show. but it's all because i love fashion, love the modeling world, and love the show.

and having an honest opinion just points to how much we've invested into the show. if we didn't care about the show or didn't watch it, then we'd have no reason to post on this thread.

if you disagree with us, that's totally fine. and we'll all respect those voices of dissent.

but there's no reason to diss us for our opinions.
that's why these forums are here -- so that we can share our opinions, as varied as they might be.

for the ultimate in seeing how talking disparagingly about the show is a form of love:
http://fourfour.typepad.com/fourfour/2008/05/a-damn-good-job.html#more

rich is king of ANTM, in my opinion - and his verbal bashing/ridiculing is all done out of this perverse devotion and love for tyra's self-centered, agenda-pushing, crazy-circus of a show known as ANTM.

and yeah - i'm sure whitney and saleisha are great, wonderful girls in person. and i'm sure alot of the negative views out there can be linked to the editing of the girls.

but - ask yourself - why would tyra give whitney and saleisha such bad edits if she knew they were going to win?

bottom line - what we disliked about some of their actions can't just be attributed to their editing alone.

the editors aren't pulling stuff out of thin air. these girls still said the horrible things and did the horrible things that they did on the show:

IE: saleisha attacking heather in the shower, saleisha saying she wouldn't share a bed with heather because she was a girl, but then being totally fine sharing a bed with chantal, saleisha getting this undue favoritism by the judges and her smiling at jenah after jenah gets eliminated, saleisha acting cocky when she wins, as if she won on her hard work alone when it was clear tyra had picked her since day 1.

IE: whitney going off on dominique and using the lame argument that she isn't racist because "my best friend is black" (fakest argument in the book), whitney pushing anya's arm out of the way before she heads onto the runway at the fake-versace show, whitney doing the mean-girl smack talking with claire right in front of dominique as she's trying to sleep, whitney making fun of the other girls in her personal interviews, and (although this is not her fault and isn't that bad), whitney winning the show over someone like anya who clearly took better photos and is more of a high fashion model

yes, that's just one side of whitney and that's just one side of saleisha. but that's all we have to go on.

so unless you know whitney and can offer us several substantive reasons to change our minds about whitney, then i think we shouldn't feel the need to censor our own opinions.

it's implied that these girls are probably much nicer and much better people in "real life" - but we're simply commenting on our perceptions of the girls on the show because that's all alot of us have to go on.

and honestly - i'm glad that tyra crowned a plus-sized winner. it probably does send a few mini-shock-waves through the fashion industry, and that's a good thing.

however, - with that said -, i think there were other plus-sized models on the show who were definitely portrayed as much nicer than whitney - EG: C3 tocarra, C5 diane, C9 sarah (i would've LOVED a sarah-win last cycle).

so in context of the entire show, it's not too satisfying for some of us to see whitney as the winner.

and on top of that, anya was so endearing, so wonderful, so innocently naive and sweet. i'm sure she had her bad moments that could've just been left of the cutting room floor, but on the whole, she seems like the type of person that cared about the other girls:

IE: anya offering food to a sick fatima in rome as whitney and the other girls smacked talked, anya going on about how she doesn't like it when girls talk smack about the other girls in the house, anya saying how grateful she is about even the food that they were served during the casting special (she's so sweet)

so - yeah i personally would've preferred an anya win over a whitney win.

and sure - the language about the girls we might not like (based on how they're portrayed on the show) might be harsh, but it's all done for effect and because we have strong opinions here.

and yes, i'm sure these girls are probably much nicer and wonderful chicks in their own way.

so we can sit in circles and sing kumbayah and talk about how wonderful everyone is and how great all the models are.

OR, we can offer our opinions based on the evidence we've gathered, respect other people's opinions, and then have a more interesting, entertaining dialogue.

i'd personally prefer the latter.

Well the way you guys are talking it comes off like you don't even like the show. But I guess it's difficult to judge where someone is coming from by just the words they write.

In the end I was fine with either Fatima, Whitney, or Anya winning.

I wasn't a fan of Whitney throughout the season, but she DID lay the smack-down on both Fatima and Anya in that final episode.

dam if u guys hate the show so much then stop freaking watching it then, if its so predictable and you knew whitney was gonna win then don't watch, i don't give its rigged, stop watching it they don't need your views cause their is plenty of other gay guys and straight girls to watch, you all should no reality shows aint really real thats what makes them entertainment......

Actually, if you anything about the ANTM fanbase, you would know that they take this show with a grain of salt. ANTM fans, gay and straight, make fun of this show because it's so ridiculous. Check out the livejournal.

And if you watched the show from the very beginning, you would notice that it has changed a lot over the years, credibility wise.

Also, punctuation is your friend.

Okay, why has this thread become flooded with pointless argumentative comments about what we choose to call reality show contestants.

Myself and the other guys that have been posting here for weeks (29 posts from myself) almost feel like we know these girls even though we don't.

A lot of us here are huge fans of this show and we came here to talk about it and express our opinions, not to argue about a negative nickname we choose to give a reality show contestant.

GROW THE FUCK UP!
