Wow. That was the biggest ANTM shocker ever. Didn't think Claire would leave so soon. I don't think she was as bitchy as most people think, and I thought she just had a bad couple of days. I didn't think it justified her elimination, since the judges' rationale was that she only has "one look." If she only had one look, why was it only brought up this past episode, whereas Lauren's walk has been a problem ever since the very first episode? I understand that Claire had fallen from grace (no more CoverGirl of the Week), but wow.

as much as i disliked claire's behavior in that last episode, a part of me thinks lauren should've been sent home - her walk/presence is horrible, and that temper tantrum with those choice words for fatima does not equal covergirl.

plus, claire seemed to have made amends with dominique since they were all friendly at the go-sees. dominique even hugged her after she was eliminated.

claire definitely redeemed herself - something about her personality was real and fresh at the go-sees, but at the same time, she really does seem too edgy for covergirl. and she's too similar to C4 winner naima in that regard -

also, claire was in the bottom two last week, so if anything, tyra was probably just going for continuity with weak performances.

that said, i am looking forward to whether or not lauren is able to pull herself together so that, in person, she looks like she does in her photos - which is pretty damn fierce. it'd be a nice transformation if she pulls it off.

anya looked stunning at the go-sees - like a real model. that bizarre platinum blonde hair makes her stand-out big time.

katarzyna - yeah, i still don't know about her. she and anya are definitely the only ones that i can see working as real models right now, but this show is all about personality and drama and other crap. and she hasn't really given us much in the way of that (or maybe it's just the editing).

I knew that Katarzyna would cry about cutting her hair, she didn't seem too thrilled when Tyra told her last week.

Is it just me, or did Tyra pronounce Katarzyna's name the exact same way when she told her the correct pronunciation yet again?

agreed 100%. she also has the weakest look. she reminds me of C9 ambreal. only taller.

i seriously have no idea how she could've booked the most jobs. then again, the designers they saw aren't exactly high fashion designers (um, shoshanna? as in, jerry seinfeld's former lolita-girlfriend?), and they obviously weren't looking for couture models - because if that were the case, katarzyna or anya would've won, hands-down.

i wish they had gone to more well-known fashion designers, but i have to give tyrant credit for giving up-and-coming designers some exposure on the show.

anyway, i'd really be surprised if stacy-ann made it to the international destination.

oh and xyboyms - thanks for posting those photos from this last photoshoot. i noticed you put them in order of call-out. awesome.

and you know - i think tyrant got it right with the call-outs (except for stacy-anne). fatima and anya had the BEST photos (fatima's could totally be a perfume ad), whereas stacy anne's, lauren's, and claire's photos sucked big time.

Btw dav242, Stacy-Ann just has to avoid one more elimination to go to the international destination, hard to believe, she is not at all high fashion IMO.

Fatima's photo took my breath away. It's simply stunning.

I totally see Lauren as the ugly ducking-turned-finalist (i.e. Shandi)
but I never saw Claire winning AT ALL.

I see Katarzyna (or "Neutrogena" as Ms. Jay called her this week LOL) and Fatima as the Final Two with (maybe?) Lauren third. She really needs to work on that GOD AWFUL walk, though.

I actually saw Claire winning, if not making it to final 3. Maybe I was just having Naima flashbacks. But I really thought she'd make it much further.

I think as long as Stacy Ann goes soon, the final 3 (or even the final 6) will be very interesting. Even in Dominique makes it! I think Katarzyna, Anya, and Fatima will make the final 3, but who knows. I think Whitney also has a good shot, and would be the first plus-size girl to make the international trip. I'm not a huge fan of her (she has her mouth open in every picture!), but I think it would definitely be interesting.

I'm hoping Stacy Ann finally gets the boot next week. Please!

hey great point.
but cycle 1 was in a league of its own. to this day, i'm not sure that tyra has even acknowledged that there was a cycle 1 winner (the rift between tyra and adrienne will probably last forever).

i'd personally love to see anya and fatima as the final 2. i love katarzyna's walk and overall look, but i prefer anya over katarzyna.

i think katarzyna's great - and she looks like a working runway model. but as far as this show is concerned, i don't think she stands out enough. and i feel like alot of working runway models (not to mention, ms paulina porizkova) look like her.

anya - with that weird accent "oh i just felt bootter-flies in my sto-muck" and that really nymph-like look - totally takes my breath away. i've never seen another model like her. and she's got a really funny/entertaining accent and personality.

i still get the feeling, though, that this is the plus-size season.

let's break it down:

lauren has the height, look, features for editorial/high fashion work. but her attitude smells like crap and her walk/presence is beyond repair. covergirl would never approve. seventeen would never approve.

so she's out eventually.

dominique's too manly, stacy-anne's too blah. plus, with two minority winners the past 2 cycles (C8 jaslene was latina, C9 saleisha - worst winner ever), i doubt tyra will pick another minority, unless the girl is extra special.

i hate playing the race card - but just look at the show's track record:
c1: caucasian, c2: caucasian, c3: african-american, c4: mixed african american/latina, c5: caucasian, c6: african american, c7: caucasian, c8: latina, c9: african american

it's unlikely that they'll have another "minority" winner - and if they do, it'd probably have to be someone really great.

so stacy-anne and dominique are out.

now, fatima, on the other hand, is pretty special and could be the exception here - she has the overall model look/walk/package. but her personality is lacking, and unless they find a way to redeem her, i don't think she'll be able to overcome historical "precedent." besides, she doesn't seem warm/friendly enough for covergirl or seventeen.

anya and katarzyna - i hate to say - probably cancel each other out. don't get me wrong - they're both stunning. they could be working RIGHT NOW, in my opinion.

but they're both eastern european-looking girls.

and kata seems too distant to be a warm/bubbly covergirl. by contrast, C8 Natasha was russian-born, but she was endearing and i could see her actually being ANTM and well-loved by the people who watch the show and little girls who buy CG. i can't say the same for kata YET...

and i can't see tyra keeping anya past the CG commercial challenge, given how she speaks.

which leaves plus-sized, annoying whitney.

tyra's had plus-sized models since the very first cycle but they've never won or gotten very far.

since returning to new york, tyra's changed the format of alot of things - tyra mail, the opening credits, a new judge. it's almost an overhaul of the show.

all these "new" changes suggest that maybe a "new" type of winner is in store as well...

and given that tyra's had her share of weight issues, i'm sure she's been itching to crown a plus-sized girl to throw in the face of fashion elitists, someone who can embody her idiotic/self-empowering catch phrase, "KISS MY FAT ASSSSS!"

whitney looks like a seventeen magazine reader, i'm sure CG would be happy to welcome her.
the only hitch is whether ELITE would approve, but i'm sure they know the ANTM winners are such a farce in their agency, so they're probably like, "what the hell. we'll do whatever you want as long as you keep paying us."

so i get the feeling that whitney's the front-runner.

i wouldn't mind if i were wrong on this, though.

if anya or fatima take it instead, i'll be one happy gay boy.

Kata, Anya or Fatima- I wouldn't mind if any of them won. I wouldn't even mind Dominique, although it's hard for me to see her as a cover girl. Whitney is really pretty but I don't like her much.

Fatima's my girl I really hope she does well. I use her Water-Nymph picture as a wallpaper cause it's damn gorgeous.

Anya's very consistent as well.
