Newly-Elected Georgia Rep Steps Down After Drug Arrest [HuffPost]
Republican Danny Rampey was arrested last month after investigators said he stole prescription narcotics at the retirement complex he manages.
Scientology leader David Miscavige is apparently “nowhere to be found” as prosecutors search to serve the controversial figure with a federal child trafficking lawsuit, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Federal authorities have reportedly attempted to serve the mysterious 62-year-old Scientology leader 27 separate times over four months in Los Angeles, California and Clearwater, Florida.
Guess what?
Perhaps someone from Nevada can clarify but I think in some rural parts of the US, there's a county official who is called a "county judge" or a "justice of the peace" who is not necessarily a lawyer but conducts minor jurisprudence functions and who is not necessarily a doctor but has the capacity to pronounce someone as "dead".^ One would think that having a law degree would be a prerequisite for the job.
The modern politician "ingrandiate":
I lied about my work experience and employment history.
I lied about my education and degrees. I never graduated from college and didn't attend those universities I put on my resumé.
I never said I was Jewish. I said I was 'Jew-ish'.
But hell yeah, I'm going to Congress, suckas!
In Texas, there are various levels of Judge, from Justice of the Peace up to the State Supreme Court. They can be elected or appointed. There is no requirement for any kind of Law degree for the majority. District and Appellate courts IIRC do require a law degree. Mostly everyone else will follow local statutes for judicial eligibility which probably won't require a degree but may require someone to be "knowledgeable" about the law.^ One would think that having a law degree would be a prerequisite for the job.
Are they more selective with prostitute qualifications? This is Nye County, Nevada, where prostitution is legal. Think they care much about judicial qualifications?
A newly elected Republican congresswoman is engaged in a legal battle back home with political enemies who claim she's a witch...
...The letter claims Tito knew his allegations, which included claims that Luna practices witchcraft, was fired from her job and had a sexual liaison with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and said the former Marine Corps captain had exercised "gross negligence" in making statements about her that were "unlikely to be true..."
....OK not really, but, damn, Floroida...
