When are "they" going to realize attitudes will only change when people that "straight people" can relate to, do come out!
Chely is extremely talented - I've been following her career since I was about ten. She's fucking hot too, so it's a nice change from all the manly-looking lesbians - shows the heteros that gay women and men don't necessarily fit the stereotypes.
I don't believe that. I think people stereotype gay men but not women. You mostly see fem woman in the media who are gay or bi. It's become so popular now for women to have a lesbian experience and than openly say they had one. It's all very sex in the city. Men don't have that. I met a girl who didn't believe I was gay cause I was just a regular guy. She had only met fem gay men who did hair and nails. What we really needed was a masculine male celebrity to come out. A male country star would have been fantastic. This is a who cares moment in my book.
Uhmmm, they stereotype gay women ALL THE TIME man. You've never heard people calling Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen more "butch" than normal, or the constant jokes about Billie Jean King? Just because Portia De Rossi is one of the most noticeable feminine lesbians doesn't mean they all are.
But fem girls all seem open to having a same sex encounter and straight men encourage that. The opposite is not true. If a woman hears her boyfriend has been with a man they get turned off. Not every woman but most. Women do have is easier in this arena. Men have to go on the DL. You don't see hot studs make out with each other at bars.
