Jake had wanted to stop performing even before I started working with him. He was really more interested in production and directing and the idea of even someone like me taking over for him was floated out. But I only took his place for four scenes.

He's now just producing CocksureMen.

What's funny was that he himself was just as baffled by his own success as anyone else. He'd sit there in meetings looking at pictures of himself naked saying "I just don't get how anyone is into this," but it did pay for his house.

My two cents is, like watching straight porn you just focus on the hot one and ignore the other.

Part of it might be that he actually got his guests off... something that is severely lacking in porn which oddly usually centers on 30 minutes of sex and then the guys jerking themselves off at the end. they generally don't want that. I would always sit down with all my stars before the scene and go over ever single thing that I was going to ask them to do. I'd give them the option of doing some things. Getting cum in their face is one of those things.

Remember that porn is just a hobby and a side-income thing for virtually all performers. Those guys generally already have jobs. I've worked with doctors, designers, a lot of trainers, a lot of guys who work in IT and technology. One of my favorite men works as a programmer for Facebook. My doctor was a Colt model. Dirk Caber is a classical musician. One of my regular guys is a mechanical engineer that works for a biotech firm making bionic body parts.

I know people have trouble wrapping their heads about that. They think that porn stars just make porn and then become Gogo dancers and then hookers and then die in a ditch of a drug over-dose. Most of the guys I'm still in contact with who'd moved on years ago are all doing pretty well.
