Britney Does NOT Have The Most Popular Album In America!

This must sting.

Britney got beat by geriatric rockers!

Spears’ new CD, Blackout, expected to sell 350,000 copies in its first week of release in the U.S.

Too bad for her that The Eagles‘ latest album, the double CD Long Road Out Of Eden, is going to sell more than twice as much as Brit Brit. Yup, they are on track to sell 700k+.

AND, what makes that feat especially rare is that The Eagles new album is only available at Wal-Mart retailers.

Luckily for Spears, though, since the California rockers’ new record is being carried by just a single retailer, the disc is not eligible for the new Billboard Album chart. So Britney will likely claim the #1 spot, even though she clearly doesn’t have the most popular album in America.

Britney will become the first female artist in soundsan history to have her first 5 albums debut at number 1 on billboard 200.

Even though Britney will technically debut at No. 1 on the album chart, that sum is sure to deflate that huge ... err, ego of hers.

Her least successful studio album was 2003's "In The Zone." But even that sucker came on with 609,000 units.

So this is a huge slap in the badonkadonk (which she has plenty of!).

I see this album staying in the Top 10 for two weeks max. Her timing is horrible.

Chris Brown, Jay-Z, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Celine Dion, Nelly, Alicia Keys and Jordin Sparks will make mince-meat out of her on the album chart over the next two weeks.

Blackout, indeed.

im not sure how the chart works over in the states as im from the uk but im guessing the eagles have some sort of deal with walmart so they can sell there c.d...surely if britney had the same sort of deal the outcome maybe quite different and to be fair britney hasnt done any promotion on this album and of course everyone is going to rush out and buy the eagles album as its there first for 27 years im sure if ABBA or the beatles (if they were all alive) released some brand new material everyone would jump on it as they have there origional fans and 27 years of new fans built up from there back cataloge.

I am happy britney is finally had a bit of success after the year she has had and i reckon we should take a look at the world sales for these 2 albums in a year from now and see whos the biggest seller then?

I'm not sure where you people have been, but Britney Spears HAS been promoting her album.. she showed up at the MTV VMAs (she'd like you to forget that, so I guess you did) and she's got a (horrible) new video for her (ghastly) new single. She's also been on the cover of every magazine, the subject of every insipid thread here by people with an IQ below 85 and making an asshole out of herself in Hollywood and Beverly Hills for weeks.





(and yes, I think all Britney Spears fans are idiots and her new song is so annoying it makes me want to drive a nail through her forehead. )
