Chick-fil-a Can Bite Me

Man, the Cfa's are packed around my area today. Part of the Huckabee Cfa Appreciation Day, the stores are seeing record crowds even before the noon lunch hour. Most store workers arrived, according to local media outlets, today at 6am to packed and over-run parking lots and it has continued to be that was all day. Store managers say they are 'honored' at all the support and have opened 'walk up' drive thrus to help with crowd control in many cases.
 
This Chick-Fil-a controversy has fired up Republicans here in South Carolina...Local Conservative DJ's are promoting the joint before the Glenn Beck hour and then Glenn Beck is promoting CFA on a National level.

I was out getting lunch earlier today and I rode by CFA. and saw something I NEVER seen.. Not only did the Drive-thru have cars wrapped around the entire building, which can happen from time to time...There was a Line of people coming out of the door going out into the parking lot....That is a First even for a Summer day......

Conservatives are simply MAD and they are gonna turn-out @ the polls come November....

Yes, I doubt this flare up is going to hurt Cfa nearly as much as the national media would like to think. The reason is that christians (conservaties) and families have always been their core, targeted market. And while technically, Cfa is now a 'national' company, the reality is their heaviest market penetration is in the deep south where that core market drives their profit and volume. They, in the short term, have only solidfied their current profit base. In the future, however, they will be challenged in certain blue states. This controversy would be far more damaging to McDonalds, for example, who truly is a national company with their business evenly distributed. Places where people seem to be most pissed at Cfa, they barely have any market presence like Boston, NYC, Chicago and SF. Outrage in those places are going on deaf ears.

But, they're not running for office. They only want $ not electoral votes. They were making big profits in GA 10 years ago when our entire state (governor and legislator) was run by Democrats.

Cfa has certainly stepped into a political arena where I have no doubt they do NOT want to be. It's their own fault. I don't think the owner thought a little comment to a tiny Baptist publication would get so much air time...welcome to the internet and social media. He was just pandering to their base, and it exploded. A few years ago, when they were stictly southern, this would have been nothing. But their future business model is about geographic expansion, and this will make that more awkward.
 
Please, this is already dying. Something else will piss off the troglodytes, and on to that they will pounce.

It's not even new, he's been doing this for years, the only reason we're even talking about it is ELECTION YEAR!

You would know California a lot better than me ( I just vacation there) but isn't there a lot of conservative people and markets there? I know the majority is Democratic for state-wide races, but I thought Calif has produced a number of radical Repubs. I thought the liberal-based areas were just in and close to the big cities just like in PA, NY, IL, etc.
 
The radical right pissed off the Latinos and lost the state.

They are cruising for that to happen here in Texas unless they pull off some major triage, that's also why Texas Republicans generally have better records on immigration that the national norm (for which they get shit)

been following all the contraversity about chickfila ... and personally i can't figure out what all the up-roar is about ... with all the people in the world that hates bis and gays ... who cares about the guy who ownes chickfila? ...if the gay community shunned all businesses that were owned or employeed anti-gay people we wouldn't have any place to shop...i like this guy's attitude...

Alright, so here is the picture. I drove by a Cfa close to my house around 3:30 (supposedly dead time) and this is what I saw.

**Parking lot overfilled with cars ... vehicles on the side of road and using the lots of neighboring businesses.
**About 15 white people carring signs by the road in support of Cfa.
**A local church bus drove up with scores of black people to eat there in protest
**2 TV stations filming events; a couple of photographers
**2 police cars controlling the crowd/traffic
**Lots of people in line and hanging around the building area...about 50/50 white/black ratio.

I saw a CNN report that said crowds from Charlotte to Dallas to Nashville were like this at Cfa's, and that Atlanta traffic patrol is saying to look for traffic jams near Cfa restaurants around the metro area.

Also mentioned that some Wendy's stores in the Carolinas have put out "We support Cfa" signs and now they're doing a high volume of business.

Don't get it Twisted...This goes waay deeper than a piece of Fried Chicken for Conservatives & mainly Christian Conservatives....The Christian Base sent Dubya BACK to the White House in 2004...That very same base could send The Obama's packing.......Republicans will be camping out @ the Polls begining on November 5th because they HATE President Obama..President Obama won't lose because Republicans showed up to the polls but ONLY because his base & Independents did not...

They're deff getting free publicity from Nut-Case Glenn & Druggie-Rush...These folks are actually standing in line in 100-degree weather...LOL...So in other words CFA is gonna push for more restaurants here in the Southeast. We still got'em in the Malls, Grocery stores(Kroger) and of course the stand-alone buildings..

Hardly that. We just went to a chick fil a outlet here in central Florida to see what was happening. The drive up line stretched across three parking lots; the walk in line was out the door, and it was wall to wall people inside.

Whoever organized the support chick fil a day did a good job of it.


The fact of the matter is that middle america is sick to death of liberal thuggery, which is what the so-called protest by the gay activists amounts to. It's backfiring on the activists in the same way that the gay marriage movement caused backlash

I can't believe what I've seen on TV news. Chick-fil-a is having that reverse boycott here. I didn't think these locals even watched news. So I guess we will have the kiss in also.

Obama will only get sent packing because his southern Baptist voters listen more to the preacher than the president.

But God help the homos in the US if the fundie base get control of the agenda. We'll either have Armageddon because they're all chubbed up for it, or at the very best, homos will be sent to concentration camps.
 
Um yeah, I don't get the whole "we should keep quiet and not piss people off". When has that EVER in ANY way worked for anyone trying to achieve social change?

Unless of course, one's position is that we shouldn't strive for social change and things should stay as they are, in which case one's place isn't in JUB. Just saying.
