Chick-fil-A's corporate political views aside, the new Chick-fil-A in the Hollywood area is arguably located in a very liberal neighborhood -- most likely the most liberal neighborhood they have ever opened a franchise.
I drove by the site of their future restaurant a while ago, and I noticed there is a tattoo parlor, a psychic, and a medical marijuana clinic directly across the street. Further down the street there is a huge cathedral-kind of a church which has a giant red ribbon (the AIDS ribbon) etched on the church tower. The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center headquarters are about a block away. The bilboards along Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue advertise movies with a lot of violence & sex, public service announcements for free testing for STDs & HIV, a pro-Wikileaks advertisement, and a giant ad for RuPaul's Drag Race.
This is clearly not the typical kind of "God fearing" neighborhood that Chick-fil-A would usually open a restaurant.
However, the Hollywood "walk of fame", the Kodak Theatre, and Mann's Chinese Theater are located nearby -- which attract a TON of tourists. I have a hunch that even if the locals try to boycott this place, Chick-fil-A can count on all of those hordes of tourists from the Midwest & South & "Middle America" to make up for any lost business.
Are you that needing for their approval? Maybe I'm just apathetic, but at the end of the day, I couldn't care less about what philosophies, principals or politics Chick-fil-A holds or supports. Just take my money and give me my food. In the meantime, if anyone has any moral objection to their stance, then they should just eat somewhere else. Don't support their business.
Wow. People are comparing fast food choices to the nazi regime now, and we've dragged out the PETA horror standards too.
Classy.
Just the other side of the seesaw. What can you expect from hell-bound, incestuous, kiddie porn watching dog fuckers that want to gay marry eight people?
As you all (probably) know, Chick-fil-A has attracted controversy over this past year because it allegedly supports conservative Christian organizations, some of which have anti-gay positions.
Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are located in suburban & rural neighborhoods, where more "Republican" and "family values" voters live. There are Chick-fil-A restaurants on many college campuses too. However, Chick-fil-A typically doesn't open franchises in very liberal neighborhoods & usually not near any "gayborhoods."
That will change this September, when Chick-fil-A opens a restaurant in Hollywood, one block away from the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, and only one mile away from the gay mecca of West Hollywood.
The location will be at 6750 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. (Corner of Sunset & Highland)

From their Facebook wall, I found a public comment by Nicholas K. Donovan. He writes --
"I am openly gay and worked at Chick-fil-A for five years, even having the honor of serving as a Crew Leader. As a company, Chick-fil-A has shaped me as a person and taught me the importance of values and ethics in the workplace. I know dozens of gays and lesbians that worked beside me, and am sure they feel the same way. Chick-fil-A is an incredible organization, and I cannot wait for them to open their doors to Los Angeles this year..."
What do you guys think about Chick-fil-A opening up a restaurant in the heart of L.A.'s gay community?
I won't dine at Wendy's because of Dave Thomas, RIP. He was "pals" with Pat Robertson.
I won't order Domino's Pizza because of Tom Monahan, loathsome pro-lifer.
I don't shop at Wal-Mart because they keep unions out, hire mostly minimum wage earners so they don't have to pay benefits, won't stock RU-85 (morning after pill) and put lots of long-time, local merchants out of business. (I know, free enterprise rules.)
I won't stop at Cracker Barrel restaurants because they've treated gay employees with disrespect.
I won't contribute to the Salvation Army or the Boy Scouts because they are anti-gay.
I know my non-patronage won't make a hill of beans worth of difference from a financial standpoint, but it makes me feel good!![]()

It seems to me that the difference between me & a lot of you guys, is that you guys see yourselves as some kind of grassroots gay activists. I wouldn't be surprised if your whole life revolves around you being gay -- your weekly social calendar might entail going to gay bars, gay bathhouses, a gay movie, a gay theatre show, singing in a gay choir, being in a gay bowling league, playing in a gay softball league, going to HRC meetings, attending Stonewall Democrat meetings, partying at White Parties in NYC & Palm Springs, Gay pride parades in the summer, Gay cruises, Gay ski trips, etc etc.
But for me, being "gay" is only part of who I am. I don't think homosexuality is something we should be ashamed of, but I don't understand why some people need to make their whole life about "gay" this, or "gay" that.......
If I choose to give someone my business, it's because I like their product, or I like their customer service -- not because of their political views. I'm not going to buy a substandard product or dine somewhere with horrible food and rude service, for the sole reason because it is "gay owned."
I don't eat at Wendy's because I don't like their food, not because of whom Dave Thomas' friends were.
I don't eat at Domino's Pizza because I don't like their pizza. I prefer Pizza Hut because I like the way their pizzas taste more.
I support Wal-Mart's decision to not stock RU-85. I shop at Wal-Mart because they have the lowest prices out of any non-membership store. I prefer Wal-Mart over Target, although I shop occasionally at Target too.
I don't believe there is a Cracker Barrel restaurant near where I live, so I couldn't eat there anyway.
I don't contribute to the Salvation Army because there are already other charities to which I do contribute. I was in the Boy Scouts for 6 years, and while I disagree with their position on gays, I did learn a lot of life skills and had outdoors experiences I wouldn't have had otherwise. In an age where children have no values, the Boy Scouts teaches boys important skills & values that are important to have as boys grow into men.
I feel good shopping where I want to, not where HRC or some other activist kind of organization tells me where to shop.

^ Did you miss the part where it's tasty?
Lex

Which is one of the reasons WHY I think that you're a troll, and that you're FAR WORSE than the Jeezus Krispees who penetrate the requirements for a free membership here so that they can call us all FAGGOTS, and remind us how we're all going to BURN IN HELL!
Except that you're "nice" about it.
Giving the moderators of these forums reason to believe that you're "real" and therefore some legitimacy.
If you truly are a person, a Gay Person, as you present yourself as being, then I have nothing but sympathy for you Sir.![]()

@Texpatriot,
I am very much a real person -- a real gay man, to be exact. I apologize if anything I said offended anybody, but I was just expressing my thoughts & the way I honestly feel.
By the way, based on my knowledge of gay porn (based on my comments in that forum), I am definitely not some kind of "Jeezus Krispee."
I just happen to be a gay man who has a lot of deeply-held conservative beliefs. It would probably be much easier if I was liberal & gay. But because I really do have a lot of conservative, traditional beliefs -- I have to find some way of reconciling my homosexuality with my conservatism. It will take me some time, but I hope to get there.
Despite the fact that you yelled at me and called me a "troll" and a "f*cking tool," I still think you're really hott.........and I would love for you to put your big penis inside me and f*ck me
Even if I couldn't sit down for week afterwards![]()

Unless it is that 'tasty' Chick Fil A chicken that some self-loathing homos just seem to not be able to get enough of.
