Christina's "Back to Basics"

Does anyone have any information about the MTV special that's airing tomorrow? Where it was filmed? What time it comes on?

I love RollingStone covers.

It's going to be an All Eyes On....special (they do those every once in a while). It's a sit down interview with John Norris about the new album. I'm not sure when it's going to air tomorrow but knowing MTV correctly I'm sure they'll air it at least 5 times a day for the next week or so. (!)

The All Eyes special has been airing since last Wednesday... Starting tomorrow, there's a new special on Christina - its kinda like a performance venue. She'll be performing songs off of her new album. I think the filmed it when she was in Europe promoting her album...

Well definitely the new album is good stuff. I could say its even better and more tolerable than Stripped. The whole "back to basics" thing is still too gimmicky though, I mean she's trying to hard to sound like she's all that and she doesnt need to do that. But yeah, the album is her best so far.

Britney often lip syncs to songs where she has tough dance routines. But when she's singing ballads, it's all live, and she manages to do it quite nicely because her ballads are simple and her voice never goes over one octave - so its easy to sing comfortably.

Nevertheless, I've seen Christina live (Stripped Tour) and she sings everything live! Granted, she doesn't dance as much as Britney, but she puts on one hell of a show! Her voice is near perfect - she has perfect pitch, range, power, and sensitivity.

Christina is back on top!! Hopefully, people will stop comparing her to Britney. I love them both, but they're so different and deserve to be recognized separately.

BACK TO BASICS - Tuesday, Aug. 15!!!!!

I like em both as well, but I never compare them. Britney has a much diferent style than Xtina. And Britney does lip sync a lot, which I hate.

As a music fanatic and listener of what's on radio right now, an album like this needs to be made! It's such a breath of fresh air from the bullshit that's playing over and over and over on the radio these past couple of years. I've been so sick of the pop music from these past couple of years. I'm so excited for Back to Basics and Justin's new cd. They're going to re-energize a much needed pop scene.

I agree. "Back to Basics" might not be the greatest album ever made. It is entirely unique and different from what's out right now. The album brings an interesting point of view and is very refreshing to listen to. This album deserves a listen!!

By the way, All Music Guide gave it 4 out of 5 stars and the New York Post gave it 4 out of 4 stars!!!

BACK TO BASICS - IN STORES TOMORROW!

I'm not sure when to buy it....Can I wait til tomorrow and get it at Best Buy or just go ahead and get it tonight at Wal Mart at midnight??? I'm not sure I can wait.....

Damn dude! I've been reading a few of your posts: did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bitch bed this morning???

Who cares if she's a copy-cat!!! Christina has an undeniably gifted voice and her music is getting better. I love the new Christina!

Ah, okay, thanks.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to not the sit down interview with John Norris.

omg its coming out tomorrow!! I'll be the first to pick up a copy on my way to gym when HMV headquarter on Yonge opens at 9 LOL! Can't wait! Finally!!!!!

I can't decide if I wanna go get it before work or after, I mean I can't actually listen to it at work but at least I'd know that I had it :P

I hope her album does well!! I saw the MTV "Back to Basics" special today and it was awesomme. Before she started singing "Oh Mother", she talked about the meaning of the song and started to get teary-eyed. During the song, she was getting so emotional and had to whipe her tears while she was singing. She has so much passion in her while she performs. I wish more artists would be that way.

I'm excited to get it today! By the way, I have a new favorite song of hers...."Understand". I can so relate to it and any of you lovers out there, you'll like it!!!

I bought it about two hours ago at midnight-I was actually the first person to buy a copy at the Wal Mart that I went to. I just got done listening to both discs and I must say the album is absolutely amazing!!!!!!! The second disc in particular (produced & written by Christina and Linda Perry) is nothing short of stunning!!!!! Her vocals, the production-everything was incredible!! If her work on the second disc doesn't win at least 4 or 5 Grammys next year it will be an absolute travesty. I'm so proud of her and tell everyone you know to go out and buy this album. Go Christina!!!!! :=D:

Yay I think I was the first to pick it up at HMV. Amazing!
I just sang to the whole Ain't No Other Man following the official lyrics lol!, now I'm on Track 5 Understand. :)

THe four year wait has been worth it!!!!!! I could listen to the whole album without skipping any track! Disc Two is absolutely amazing with top-notched vocals and this time she doesn't oversing. Christina has gone somewhat spiritual this time with Mercy On Me, MAkes Me Wanna Pray and Save Me From Myself is just hauntingly beautiful - just her voice with guitar with no adlibs and riffs!! And Hurt is to Back to BAsics what Beautiful was to Stripped

Just listened to the entire CD and I have to say I was very impressed by it. Disc two was something I think the music industry needed for not being pure mainstream. I can listen to this album all the time and I don't think it will get old.

My favorite track is Nasty Naughty Boy just for the fact it sounds soooo nasty but then so right!

Only gripe there might be is on "Candyman" she sings "he makes my cherry pop" which some younger fans might start repeating to their parents, lol.
