Remember, college instructors are overwhelmingly liberal democrats. Universities avoid hiring conservatives and Republicans. Their salary and benefit expectations are a major factor in driving budgets through the roof. And here you thought only the corporatins and rich were greedy.

So what, you want yet more regulation and rules demanding some kind of equality for political views imposed upon employers?

I am sick and tired of right wing conservatives demanding yet more useless rules be placed on employers.

Just like the billions wasted on airport security, just like the billions wasted on three strikes prison sentences, just like the hundreds of millions wasted on school books that have to be printed up with evangelical science.

The reason right-wing conservatives avoid academia is because teachers make shit pay in the U.S. and with similar educational qualifications you can probably make 3x more in the private sector or for Wall Street or similar.

The fact that research and studies funded and published by universities follow the scientific method and not the Bible means that the conclusions they release conflict with right-wing talking points frequently-- almost all the time. Thus we reverse-engineer the conclusion that they are liberal.

Meanwhile in reality world, many public university systems have pushed tenure into disuse, and moved to hiring professors on lecturer contracts to pay them less money and to be able to replace them at no notice.

But oh yes. The cost increases are due to "Liberal Democrat professors."

It would be interesting then to compare the tuition increases in the universities you claim have changed to those which have not. Apparently at least some universities agreed with me that the salaries and benefits of the instructors were driving up tuitions.

I can't believe one person, who claims to be scholarly trained, can be so ignorant about so many topics.

Educators at universities, while making a comfortable living, can make far more in the private sector with far less responsibility. They are not getting rich (unlike lawyers). What has driven education is the cost of modern buildings, technology, and cuts from state government (usually Republican led). Republicans have cut higher education, cut Headstart, cut K-12 and wonder why they have become the party of stupid.

I'm heading to Kansas where the Republican genius Governor has destroyed education, road funding, and now wants to help local government do the same.

Maybe before you speak from whatever end you seem to communicate, you should spend one second to study. I'm sure the brown hordes prevent you from so doing.

No. Actually they had their budgets slashed by a Republican governor and no longer had the funding for proper staffing to replace full-time or retiring professors.

At my particular university, they had to close entire academic fields because of this. Anthropology was the first to go.

It would be much more relevant (and interesting) to examine the unhealthy relationship between creditors and banking interests and large university administrations and the kickback interests of delivering people into large debts for the banks than "the overpaid liberal professors." But I'm sure Benvolio would disapprove. After all, breaking up a highway robbery double dipping kickback moneymaking scheme would be driving poor, innocent super wealthy people to invest their money overseas instead.
