  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Does anyone else prefer their middle name more?

My middle name is my mom's maiden name, and doesn't sound at all like a male first name to me.

Yea everyone knows me by my middle name. Its Lukas but everyone calls me Luke, even my mom #-o . First name is Chirstopher lol.

I have my father's name, Floyd, and have gone by my middle name, Dominique, for a while. When I started working part time in highschool, though, the people in the office called me Floyd. And now in college classmates and professors call me Floyd. Sometimes people hear me refer to myself as Dominique and they start calling me that.

Once in highschool one of the Vice Principals called me to his office to ask me who I was. lol. He had me down for something as Floyd and then again as Dominique. Asked me if I had a sister named Dominique. -facepalm-

My middle name could have easily been my first name if it wasn't for my dad, although it was his name. He told my mom that I'd get made fun of as other American kids wouldn't get it. He probably saved me a lot of ridicule with that one decision.

My middle name begins with a Y. Good luck guessing.

My middle name is Zachary. I like it. But it would rhyme with my last name if my name were Zach, so it's probably for the best that I'm Sam :)

My name (as I stated in a similar thread before) is a combination of two among the world's most common names. The first one is the short form my father's (Francis). The middle one should've been Calvin, but my father misheard it as Kevin. Strange that everyone hearing them states the combination is very uncanny...

Didn't really like both of them (too many people go with those names!). My friends usually mash the two words together or call me by my initial.

I hate my middle name. xD. My little brother has it as his first name. My step dad has it as his middle name. My dad has it as his first name. My mom calls me by my middle name when I show up at an event and yells something like 'Why haven't you come by sooner?'. When she's mad she calls me by my middle name, my dad by his first, little brother by his first or my step dad by his middle name. xD

It is really confusing!

My friends call me Ash or Jakob. Those aren't even in my names. XP

Well, my middle name IS Dick...
You just reminded me of a bad pun by my dad. >.> I have an Aunt Regina (I really do) and an Uncle Dick (that is his first name on his ID o.o). Well you get the picture.

I happen to like both my middle and first name the same, but I would prefer to be called by my first name. Also, I'm never called by my middle name, starts with an M, because that isn't what I've become accustom to, I always go by my first name, which is Odin.

well i didnt get no middle name and my first name is Demetrio but i just go by Dimi (not Demi) heh.

I was given my middle name after my uncle, who later became a huge party animal, cocaine addict and got himself infected with HIV. He's now living his last days with full AIDS.

So hmm, maybe you can see why I don't like it too much. :p

My parents were completely unoriginal; my brother's first name is my middle name and my first name is my brother's middle name.

My close friends call me "Sam" which is my initials but at work I am forced to go by my original name so it can be awkward sometimes.

I prefer my middle name Christopher over my first name Paul, I actually went through most of school as Christopher but for whatever reason in jr high I changed it to Paul...wish I hadn't

Fun Fact: Ashton Kutcher actually goes by his middle name; His legal name is Christopher Ashton Kutcher.
