Gay Marriage Updates By State

Another promising article regarding gay marriage in New York:

http://www.cityhallnews.com/newyork...lobby-senate-republicans-on-gay-equality.html

They didn't mention Owen Johnson on the list of moveable Republican Senators I noticed. I'm amazed they mentioned Greg Ball, who I got the impression is a huge Tea Partier.

The original Tea Party movement was about fiscal conservatism, nothing more, so there are 'members' who aren't into the social agenda the Klingons pursue.

Hey, don't be bad mouthing Klingons.
Wharf was a good dude!

I get so tired of Christians who don't really read the Bible. Civil marriage belongs to "Caesar", i.e. the government, and not to the church.

I would SO love to see some state pass a law stating that matters religious and secular must be kept separate, and therefore the word "marriage" is replaced with "domestic union",which is defined as an interpersonal partnership declared by consenting adults, period. It would be great to see the self-appointed theocrats sputter and stutter as they tried to argue that a relationship that is not spiritual, not a sacrament, not religious in any way, has to be defined by them because they think God says to. It would make it simple to show that what they're trying to do is impose their religion on everyone else -- nothing more, and nothing less.

I'm sick of people saying gay marriage was defeated in Maryland. The bill is only put on hold until next year, and it's already passed the Senate. I guess whatever makes them feel good about themselves.

New York Republicans are different though. I think New York may very well pull it off in the coming months.

U.S. Catholics break with church on gay relationships

"A majority of Catholics (56%) believe that sexual relations between two adults of the same gender is not a sin. Among the general population, less than half (46%) believe it is not a sin."
