Gay men: what is your religion?

How about people like me who have no religion? Wouldn't it be better and more fair to reconstruct your question to something like"

Gay men: do you have a religion, and if 'yes', what is your religion?

Thanks in advance for a reply. Best wishes.

I'm a very lapsed United Methodist. So lapsed that my church closed and was sold. It's some cult now.

Never adhered to a proscribed or traditional religion; I consider doing so antithetical to any kind of metaphysical exploration. I suppose what could currently be considered my "religion" (in that it involves certain positions and practises) relates exclusively to my writing (I'm an author and editor by trade); I regard the exercise of imagination and the ability to articulate what it produces as sacrosanct; I believe through its exercise we develop empathy, transgress our parameters as conscious entities, and therefore learn to transcend ourselves. It's a religion of one, in that it was developed, belongs to and has application for only one being: me, which is, insofar as I'm concerned, is about as legitimate a structure of metaphysics of any kind can get.

I am a devout Christian believer...protestant.

I am a Hindu, but I am more spiritual than overly devout.

One of the nice things about Hinduism is that it is not closed-minded to other religions; Hindus will not tell you to convert or be "damned to hell." Most Hindus believe that there is more than one path to God.

I am open to dating guys who are Christian (any denomination), Jewish, Buddhist, or Hindu.

I would probably not date a guy who is Muslim or atheist. Muslim because of their rampant violence against gays & Hindus, and atheists because I have a strong belief in God.

I think belief in God, or at least a higher power, is important to me.

Recovered Catholic.

God hates all religion and will punish all religions.

I suppose the basic issue intended to be dealt with here is the thoughts-thinking required to reconcile any religious belief with the fact that most religions ( in particular Christianity , which will be the historical background of most people here ) are generally hostile ( exclusive and sometimes actively condemnatory ) of your inalienable state . An interesting and noteworthy phenomenon is that many here who are inalienably religious will be obliged to turn to other religions . I bet , if Jayqueer considers himself Hindu or is drawn to that that his parents and upbringing are not . As well another issue might be the intellectual permutations required to regard yourself as a member of an actively hostile religion : it can't be easy to be a Catholic .
