Glee! [merged]

I expected Fox to give them a truncated 5th season just to tie up loose ends but you are probably right gemini. Fox probably has no other shows to fill in that hour time slot but if I were a TV exec, I would take each show on a season-by-season basis.

I am really shocked about it getting a two season pick up. But yeah, Fox really has nothing going for it anymore. Xfactor has been a huge failure from day one and AI is just crashing and burning. As long at Glee does over the 2 million in the 18-49, its still doing good in todays tv ratings (which is sad).

I think it pulls in about 4-5 million overall. Not even close to the 8+ mil it pulled in seasons 1&2. If it was for the shitty itunes sales of the autotuned songs [people actually buy this shit‽] I think Fox would have canned it. An hour time slot is very tough to fill. I just find it amusing that Glee according to the Emmy's is classified as a "comedy". So to all those schmucks that think "Shooting Star" will get nominated for an Emmy, good-fucking luck getting that episode nominated in the comedy category.

Random aside: I hate the fact that you're a Yankee fan but I take solace in the fact that at least you are not a Mets fan.

Of course it was renewed. The show pulls in the $$ with single sales. That said, latest episode was stupid. Especially the Sam thing.

^^^Aren't iTunes sales down tremendously from previous seasons? I remember glee singles going top ten easily, but now they struggle to make it top 50 before quickly dropping. For all the musical numbers this season has had I can't seem to recall a single one, except that all of the closing numbers basically consist of them running around in circles and joining hands.

So now I'm reading they plan on extending the school year into season 5 with the newbies. Clearly this is what the show needs.

^I personally hate all the music this season has put out, but it doesn't change the fact that it pulls in enough $$ to make Glee Fox's second most profitable show (first is still Idol).

The only music number I remember besides the horrible reprise of "Don't Stop Believin'" is the "Momma Mia" done in NYC.

can they just fire the director, produce, and writer. And just make the next 2 seasons epic good? or just reenact season 1 and 2 again. Pretend the last seasons were all a big dream sequence.

1st photo of Blaine looking at engagement rings for Kurt. What's up with FOX not even trying to keep this story under wraps? Clearly, no engagement is happening at this time.

I can't wait to see how Blaine is convinced marriage is a serious option when they're not currently together, there's been no mention of them keeping in touch after their Valentine's day hook up, Blaine has had a hard on for Sam, and Kurt is (supposedly) dating Adam. Since Kurt only gets two minutes per episode, I would like to see more of his POV because so far it's been the opposite. What Blaine wants, gets, and needs is the focal point to a storyline that Kurt is a prop for. When it's his storyline, he was the one cheated on.

 Yeah, and I guess the movie episode was "memorable" only because that whole show was just back-to-back musical numbers. Including the top flop 500th performance.

If only! This has been a bad transition season, it would have made more sense to extend the school year with the previous cast then with this current one. This season has been underwhelming, derivative, and sloppy.

^It hasn't been as bad as season 3 though. Dear God that Christmas episode was still cringeworthy.

I think if they approached Glee as a "soap opera" musical, it would make it much better instead of trying to be a Degrassi musical. If Kurt and Blaine get married, I'm done with the show.

I acutally liked that Christmas episode, mainly for the holiday special within. !oops! Yeah season 3 definitely had it's share of fails and concluded in a very predictable & unsatisfying way. This is my first season that I'm live-watching so it's just been mess after mess for me, definitely not the best season to start watching from.

The music this season is so terrible.

My favorite Glee cover songs

#5 - Hate on Me

#4 - Blame it

#3 - Let me Love You

#2 - Smooth Criminal

#1 - Defying Gravity

A glee song isn't a glee song unless Amber Riley is yelling at the end of it. Get her back, and you got your sales.

^^RE: "Smooth Criminal" that was probably the standout performance from season 3 for me, I loved everything about it.

Ugh... tonight's show, once again, was a disjointed mess. (Stay away from serious topics, glee, thanks.) The NY trio saved this one, their storyline was actually paced much better (and acted) whereas McK was all over the place. How many days did that blackout last? Really for the first time it was like watching two different shows. I had never heard "At the Ballet" before tonight and may purchase this one off iTunes, it was a great number. Long, but good.

Blaine has been getting on my nerves for awhile now, but Darren Criss I'll happily look at.
