I don't know whether or not I should laugh or cry over this: :help:

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSyypEnDSsw[/ame]

My question is always "how many viewers are there and how many actually believe him?"

And what is scary is that with the old folks parked in their Barcaloungers every waking hour glued to the latest coverage of Egypt and now Libya, Becko is gaining back audience share to watch him do it.

So....most days over the last two weeks, he's pulling a P2+ audience of about 2.0 mil +/-.

Probably all the viewers on the same psychotropic draugs as Glenny is scarfing back are probably believing every word he says, ie 1.99 million americans think he is the prophet.

The rest of the viewers are involved in drinking games.

Or on life support and the nurses just leave FOX on all the day to keep them company.

Or the folks at the Daily Show and Colbert who need to assemble montages.

Most anything on FOX draws more viewers than anything on MSNBC. That doesn't make it correct, however. I've found Beck to be tedious to watch. He throws a certain amount of truth into his spin which makes the overall show marginally more palatable. The whole Soros expose was interesting because you can look up a great deal of what Soros has said over the years to see he's really creepy.

On the other hand, the concept of a widespread conspiracy, while popular among Americans, is as a practical matter, pretty tough to pull off. It requires too many people to be acting in exactly the same way towards a particular goal or objective. We aren't nearly that organized.

Watching Beck for more than 10-15 mins.makes me want to jump out of a window.

As long as the dollars keep coming in he'll continue losing it for our entertainment

I think Beck is a Democrat. Because he is sure hurting the Republicans.

That video makes me appreciate Joe, for the first time.

Pretty pathetic that the evening hate mongers Maddow and O'Donnell can't even beat Beck

Last Thursday he just about beat those two combined

The numbers speak for themselves. Righties have only Fox. The left and middle have 3 other networks to choose from. Add the 3 other networks and Fox is really only drawing less that 1% of total Americans and, except for O'Reilly, less than the other 3 combined. Also look beyond cable news, which is only a fraction of TV news ratings. The ABC Evening News draws over 23 million every night...which essentially blows cable news right out of the water. Cable news in general is still not watched by the majority of Americans because all of it is so biased either far right or far left.

^ You're casting pearls. When people don't understand demographics or don't want to live outside of FAUXland, they can't be convinced of anything.

I wonder how many people who start to hear voices while watching his show actually do take the leap?

He might not understand your post, he's still relying on the same ad populum defense.

Anecdote Warning:
I used to have a friend who is a "true believer." He is a "born-again" Christian and comes from a blue collar background (not that there's anything wrong with that). The last time I was at his place he had the Focus on the Family web page on his computer. He votes Republican - lock-step.

When he tried to foist one of his kernels of wisdom on me, I asked him where he got the information. He said that Glenn Beck said it. In a reply totally devoid of diplomacy I asked him, "you watch that shit"? When I tried to explain to him that an issue generally has at least two sides and perhaps more. I think I made his head explode. I don't call him anymore because I already know what the outcome is going to be.

I do not have cable: I don't watch Ed Schultz or Rachel Maddow. I don't give a rat's ass about their ratings. I have a brain (or what passes for one) and I don't need anybody on television to reinforce my own point of view. (I know how disappointing this must be to certain individuals.) I am very disillusioned about where this country is headed. Glenn Beck is not the problem, but indicative of a much more serious illness.

Bragging that Beck has more viewers than the other two talking bobbleheads on cable doesn't even pass the ad populum test of 'many people' agreeing, so it must be true.

In this case, it is more along the lines of:

More poorly educated, older white males with limited understanding of world affairs or domestic politics watch Glenn Beck than either Maddow or O'Donnell combined.

He's so over the top. What's frightening is some people take him seriously and believe what he says. But Beck is laughing all the way to the bank. This is how he gets his money: by attracting attention to himself. The more outrageous he is the more people will talk about him.

And like others have mentioned, just because he has more viewers doesn't mean he's better or more accurate. It's just means more people tune into his show. More people watch Two and a Half Men but that doesn't mean it's better.

Scarborough is right when he says how Beck is losing it. I think Fox is looking for an excuse to drop him because his ratings are going down. When he doesn't make enough money for them he'll be gone.

Plus, those people tend to be more educated which means they rely less on cable news in general.

It is the studio's fault.
Beck is nothing if the studio don't employ him.

It might be useful to throw petrol bottles into the studio.

Scary though. Glennda had dropped back to about 1.7 million p2+ market share, but with Daffy Ghaddaffi driving the ratings....Beck actually has had as many as 2.2 mill idiots wasting another hour of their finite lives being fed his own brand of crazy-hate.

Maybe with Libya out of the way....his audience will just decide to go to the mall to get out of their trailers and bed-sit apartments for a change.

More and more ad-hominem attacks...

hows this for ad hominem?

Beck is a cumm guzzling diseased mentaly ill maggot infested racist who is only interested in money and attention, and doesn't care if he rips people or the nation apart to get those two things.

He's helping to destroy the republican party, and assure them a dark place in this era of american history.

congrats
