Harry Reid’s Wild Speculation About Mitt Romney’s Unreleased Tax Returns

TO Johann

lalalalalalalalala

no idea - guessing there's something in there that's considered "worse" than stonewalling - to me that's more likely than it being an "on principle" issue

but he went thru McCain's VP vetting (don't chuckle as he ended up with Palin) and Steve Schmidt (the Mav's chief of staff) said on MSNBC that there was no issue with them

Schmidt: Romney tax returns different - POLITICO.com

The article said the campaign people say it would be far worse to release them than to keep sitting on them.

That tells me Mitt is nowhere near being the man his father was. George Romney believed a man's doings should be such that having them viewed in public would be no embarrassment.

^ George Romney is regarded so fondly now

Such inauthentic posturing

I think Obama is a murderer

Just "feel" it

@Chance:

You got one thing right:

I do think Romney's a sociopath.

But pray tell: why do YOU think Romney won't release his returns?

Because he knows, as we all do,that no matter what they show they will be misrepresented used against him by the Democrat media. Large amounts to charity? Just shows how rich he is and what a religious nut. Income from WalMart stock? Boohoo, they hire poor people and buy from China. Income from McDonalds stock? Boohoo they sell fatty foods.
The media have become so ravenously partisan they are campaigning ruthlessly for Hussein. Remember the cover showing the halo? And another calling Romney a wimp? NYT was among those taunting him at the Polish war memorial: "what about the gaffes".

The Walking Dead unfortunately can NEVER play it str8 - that would take a conscience and some reason, two things lacking

Stewart's piece is priceless - tells Harry to shut up - says referencing Mitt's dad is pretty lame shit

The Dead don't think so

The Dead are dead

Jon Stewart tells Harry Reid to

he's REALLY REALLY terrible ;)

this is what Reid said

"His poor father must be so embarrassed about his son," Reid said

His poor father is dead and has been for quite some time

this guy is the majority leader of the senate - the guy the democrats have as their senate leader - LOL

Satire and certain classes of the masses not getting satire.... that is the funny part. When you have to turn to comedians for proof positive of your points.... lol

What's wrenchingly real about this is that Stewart is more trusted as a news source by many people than any other figure -- and not unreasonably so, because he is trustworthy on his facts.

He may be a comedian, but a great deal of major "news" is a (bad) joke.

He's got credibility because unlike The Walking Dead, he makes it a point to stay real and point out hypocrisy and stupidity regardless of political affiliation while staying true to his convictions

His appearances on Fox are classic - O'Reilly loves to have him on (he's a get) and generally handles it decently while Stewart is clearly if not in charge, in control of the entire situation

It occurs to me that being walking dead is better than being a zombie cannibal, which is what the Republicans are lately.

I agree he may be a sociopath. As for the returns, I think he just thinks he's so far above "us people" that we don't deserve to get a glimpse of the doings of the privileged. I'm sure there are inevitably things that will piss off ordinary citizens when they see just how much the trickle-up economy funnels to the elite; anyone with his soprt of income will almost certainly have either those or a conscience.

Anyone seeking Employment is subject to a 'background check' that includes Credit Report and Tax Liens. I am sure that Bain Capitol ran background checks.

IMO, since Romney wants the Big Job he should have 'us' his employers review his creds.

How about Hussein's college records? Are you sure you want to open that Pandora's box?

Unless Reid provides the source of that information as Anderson said, it may be a wash but it still doesn't negate that he probably is hiding something. Just like birthers, Democrats can keep hammering home the tax returns like a broken record. Would not even be surprised if by debate time, if he has not released them that he gets asked why he hasn't and he can flip-flop on that.

Go Harry -- thanks for having the courage to step up and state the obvious. If felon Romney has nothing to hide, release the returns. duh. I wonder what would be the GOPs attitude if a democratic candidate tried to pull the same sleasy crap.

Reid is doing nothing for his image .. .not to say he had a good one anyway.

The Majority Leader of the Senate pushing gossip on the Senate Floor -- a new low.

... btw, I heard it from a source, can't say who, but I hear Harry drinks coffee and eat chocolate on the sly.

You have a short memory. How long did it take for Obama to show a birth certificate?

All 6 yo kids in the USA have to show a birth certificate to play T-Ball . . . Obama couldn't have played T-Ball for the first two years as President.
