no idea - guessing there's something in there that's considered "worse" than stonewalling - to me that's more likely than it being an "on principle" issue
but he went thru McCain's VP vetting (don't chuckle as he ended up with Palin) and Steve Schmidt (the Mav's chief of staff) said on MSNBC that there was no issue with them

The article said the campaign people say it would be far worse to release them than to keep sitting on them.
That tells me Mitt is nowhere near being the man his father was. George Romney believed a man's doings should be such that having them viewed in public would be no embarrassment.
