  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Have you ever walked out of a movie 'cause it sucked?

One time me and a few friends went to the movies and spent 2 hours in the lobby becuse there was a cute guy there and i wanted to talk to him. And i did! and i played with his hair

Did you walk out because it was bad, or because it made you uncomfortable.

Because it made me uncomfortable. It was scary -- and I was thinking that my imagination would run wild when I was home alone that night.

Does falling asleep in a movie theater count or constitute as "walking out" due to the movie's unsatisfactory quality?

Because watching Batman Begins, Brokeback Mountain (don't hate me for this...although I was fully awake after watching it the 2nd time with my friend), Superman Returns, Nacho Libre and Thank You for Smoking did just that. #-o

Sounds like you should be home sleeping instead of going to the movies...

I only walked out of one movie. I put the name of the movie out of my head, but it was the one where two guys go on a wine tasting trip in California. It was more of a "whine" trip!

I believe this would be "Sideways". If I'm correct, I LOVE that movie! It may be a little slow at first, but once they really start drinking and getting into trouble it gets hilarious. I've seen it at least a handful of times. I guess it's not for everyone though. I'm a sucker for love comedies, or love stories in general.

Last summer's God-awful Robin Williams vehicle, "R/V"

Christ, what a waste of talent.

I watched it on a flight from L.A. to Tampa, and people were *still* walking out....

Walked out on "House of 1000 Corpses"...it was blah.Zombie had better get it right with "Halloween"..and i fell asleep during "Dumb and Dumber"(i was really tired)

I sat in a room for what seemed like an eternity watching a film called wavelength

Hell, I even made it through 'Norbit'

"White Chicks," I did not last.

Eddie Murphy and the fat suits is getting old... He should take a hint - if the only way he can get work is acting in mediocre movies by stepping into a fat suit...

Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom

I know it was trying to make a serious point but the torture scenes (which made up most of the part I watched) thoroughly sickened me. I just had to leave.

:(

.... Bill Murray's Lost in Translation. One of the things lost was the fact everyone said it was good when in fact it SUCKED
Totally agree!! The only reason I went was because of all the rave reviews it got. I didn't walk out of it but fell asleep half way through and didn't wake up till the lights came on at the end. It was soooooooo boring!!!

The most recent movie I actually walked out of was 300 .... what a crock of shit that was!!

One word:

Ishtar

Wait you actully paid money to "see" that.

Actually, no, I didn't. I'd heard how bad it was and I was curious, so I started watching it when it came on television. I didn't watch much of it before I turned it off, but I can remember looking forward to the commercials.

Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear in "The Matador"(2005) . I saw "it" at Downtown West movie theater in Knoxville. It sucked royally and (no pun intended) full of bull.

^you're lucky you got walk out the 300

i was stuck there because my guy is sparten

it was bad and now the dvd.

god help me

I liked Swimfan. Some movies take more than 30 minutes before the plot starts to twist. The most interesting parts are mainly in the middle and end of movies. I don't see how anyone can leave after just 30 minutes.

I quite understand the way plot development works. I however already mentioned this was a movie my group of friends and I were not too keen on seeing to begin with. That being the case we took a chance and went in. We were bored and decided we'd rather waste our time doing something else. Also it's not as if Swimfan was the be all end all of movies. What I did see of it really did suck. Whether it got better or not was not going to change my mind, I was not being entertained. Matter of opinions are obviously different.

^ Norbit's no good?

Oh great! I just flipped "Epic movie" out of my DVD after 50 long laughless minutes. My other rental this week: "Norbit". I'm not expecting the eddie Murphy to be great, but I hope I don't find it a total dud like Epic Movie.
